Louis ended up dragging me to an outdoors mall so he could get an outfit tonight's dinner with his family. He has lead me to so many stores so many brands that I've gotten dizzy. We've gone to Versaci, Louis Vuitton, Yves Saint Laurent, Dolce & Gabana and many more. And just my luck, because so far he hasn't found anything.
"Louis, I'm going for a wander. I have my phone so call me when you've found something," I tell him and he nods, giving me a quick kiss on the cheek and then a wave.
I walk aimlessly down the walkways of the mall, the winter breeze making my skin flush. I stumble upon a very nice jewellery store, the sign reads Cartier and I raise my eyebrows. Sighing, I walk inside. I am soon spotted by the man attending the store and he smiles at me. He has greying hair that tickles the tops of his ears, slight stubble littering his cheeks and chin and welcoming green eyes. He is tailored in a very nice black three piece suit with a white dress shirt underneath.
"Hello Ma'am, what is your name?" He asks me.
"I'm Kaitlyn," I tell him and he smiles politely.
"How may I be of service to you, Kaitlyn?" He asks and I smile.
"I was looking for something for my... uh... boyfriend?" I say with a questioning tone. He smiles at me with a wink and then leads me over to a case with clear glass and many silver items sparkling inside.
"Now, were you looking for a bracelet, ring, watch or necklace?" The attendant, who's name tag reads Jonathan, says.
I shrug non-committally with a sigh and he smiles at me reassuringly.
"Were you looking to get it engraved," Jonathan asks and I nod, "Is it many words or only a few?"
"About four words," I tell him and he nods.
"Big words or small words?"
"No more than four letters per word."
He nods once more and takes a stash of keys off of one of his belt loops on his black dress slacks. He uses one of the many keys and unlocks the case in front of us. He takes out three silver cuff-like bracelets and lays them on a small cloth.
"Now, all three of these bracelets can be engraved on, but only on the inside. Is that okay?" He asks me and I nod, "Okay, now look at these three and tell me what you think, after I have a chat to the lovely girl I call a daughter who just arrived for work," He says sarcastically and smiles at me after I nod and he walks off.
I watch him walk over to her and talk to her, probably admonishing her on her tardiness. She is quite a beautiful girl. She has long blonde hair with a bit of brown coming through the roots, a lovely smile, and from my standing point, I can just see her green eyes and a name tag that reads the name Celeste. She is wearing a black knee length skirt, black stockings, white business shirt, black vest and a gold cravat.
She must see me watching her as she smiles kindly and walks to the other side of the store. Jonathan looks at me quickly with a smile before going and serving a couple, I'm assuming, that just walked through the doors.
I must admit, for men's bracelets, they really are quite nice. They're not too dull and they're not too detailed either. Perfectly fitted for Louis' style I think. One of them is a thick cuff bracelet and I decide against that one. I don't think he would wear something too chunky. The second is a smaller size, but it has detailing on it that looks a bit too feminine. The last thing I want is for Louis to think I bought him a women's bracelet. So I guess that just leaves the third bracelet. Looking at it, I'm definitely pleased with my decision. It is the same size as the second one, and the detailing on it looks as though screws have been screwed into the cuff. It's small enough that it's not too suffocating on your wrist, but big enough that I can get it engraved.
A few moments later, Jonathan walks back over and asks me of my decision. I tell him and he smiles and tells me I chose a good one. He takes it over to his desk looking thing and pulls out weird looking device. He flicks a switch on it and all I can hear is a buzzing sound. He takes something off of the machine and it looks like a pen.
He looks at me and motions for me to come closer with his forefinger. i do as requested and he smiles once I am close enough.
"What would you like to be engraved on it?" He asks.
"Say you love me," I tell him and he smiles at me.
"Very well," He says and gets to work.
About twenty minutes later, he walks over to a clear case, like the one we were at looking at bracelets, only this is one with a till on it. He motions me over and then rings the bracelet up. He tells me the price and I'm surprised, not as expensive as I thought it would be. I hand him my credit card and he finishes the transaction. He bids me good day, as does his daughter Celeste, and I walk out of the store.
I walk aimlessly for a few more minutes before I hear my phone ringing. I swipe the lock screen to accept it and press the device to my ear.
"Hello?" I answer.
"Hello, love. Where are you?" I hear Louis' voice come through the phone.
"I'm a few stores down from Cartier," I say and I hear him saying shop names softly through the phone.
Not even ten second later I feel a pair of arms grab my shoulders. I gasp and turn around, ready to punch, only to find out that it is Louis. I hang up my phone, put it in my pocket and look at him. He is smiling at me with amusement clear in his ocean blue eyes.
"Easy there, Ronda Rousey," He says and I look at him questioningly.
"Who is that?" I ask and he shakes his head in amusement.
"She's a UFC fighter. Ayway, I got my outfit for tonight, luckily. The pants I chose were the last ones they had in stock. Just my luck, too. This always happens to me," He rambles and then looks at the bag in my hand, "What did you buy, love?"
"Your birthday present," I say nonchalantly and he gives me a megawatt smile.
"You didn't have to get me anything. Your enough of a gift, my angel," He says, leaning in to kiss my cheek and I blush.
"Well, I did anyway," I say and hand him the bag.
He takes the box that the item is in out of the bag, then takes the bracelet out of the box and studies it. He smiles brightly once he's done and slips onto his left wrist. He pulls me into a big hug and kisses the top of my head. He murmurs a thank you into my ear and in return, I kiss his neck.
"Did you read the engraving?" I ask and he looks puzzled.
"I didn't see one," He says and takes he bracelet back off.
He looks on the inside and reads the inscription. He looks at me, again with a puzzled look and says, "What's the inscription mean?"
"Say you love me," I whisper to him.
He obliges and says, "I love you."
I smile and say, "That is my most favourite sound in the whole world. You confessing your love for me."
He smiles beautifully and then pulls me in for another hug and I sigh, enjoying the moment far too much.
