Louis

Kaitlyn and I eventually went down stairs to the lounge room and just spend time together. Harry had left a note on the fridge saying that he would be back tomorrow morning to see how our reunion went. I chuckled when I saw that he signed the letter off with ‘-Harry xoxo’.

Kaitlyn and I were sitting on one of Hayley’s lounges. I had my back leaned up against the arm and she was propped between my legs, resting her back against my front. She brought one of Hayley’s guitars with her, Betty I’m pretty sure it was, and strummed a little, making little tunes that she said sounded pretty.

While Kaitlyn was strumming absentmindedly, I thought back to the day that she left Australia. I remember it so clearly. It brought back memories of when Eleanor left me. Zayn and I had a really long talk about Kaitlyn leaving. He had said that maybe it was the best, so that she could get some time to think. She had just gone through a break up and being beaten by Lucas, so with the added emotions with me confessing my love for her was a bit much. Zayn does agree, however, that it was a good a time as ever to tell Kaitlyn my feelings.

Zayn and I talked for hours, about my feelings toward Kaitlyn, how I felt about her leaving, how I felt about her reaction, and me finding similarities between her leaving and Eleanor leaving. It was really good to get it all off my chest.

The months that followed were difficult. I kept saying that maybe if I hadn’t of told Kaitlyn that I loved her, then maybe she would still be here and we could still be friends. But I would always say the word friends with so much venom, because I wanted so much more than to be friends with Kaitlyn. I loved the girl for fuck sakes. But when it came down to it, I would have that friendship with her; I would have any kind of relationship with her, as long as Kaitlyn was with me in some way, shape or form.

I remember the day that I went wedding dress shopping with my mom in Central London. She had said that she would come down from home for the day, spend some ‘mother-son-bonding-time’ with me while we picked out a dress for her. Niall, Liam and Zayn went to Hayley’s place and Harry went golfing.

Mom and I were wondering around the streets, coffees in our hands and window shopping for about an hour, before she actually found a shop that she actually wanted to go into. I chuckled when she gripped the sleeve of my denim jacket and pulled me inside of the shop.

We spent a good three hours in there, with mom saying no to every single dress. I will really never understand why it takes women so long to pick out an outfit. It wasn’t until the second last dress that she finally said maybe. The woman attending to my mother sighed in relief and I chuckled. Mom asked to see the last dress before she made a decision. As soon as she saw princess dress with the poofy skirt, she immediately said no. So went with the second last one.

Once we had left that shop, we went and got some lunch at a café. We were sitting outside at a table, talking about the venue she had chosen for her wedding. I wasn’t listening as well as I should have been. I was picking at the blueberry muffin I had ordered, thinking about her.

“Louis!” My mom’s voice breaks through my reverie.

I lift my head up to see her fond, teasing expression looking back at me, “Yes mother?”

“Oh, don’t be smart with me,” She scolds playfully, “What are you thinking about?”

“Nothing,” I reply and she chuckles.

“Don’t BS me, Louis. There is something on your mind. Now tell me,” She demands and I smile at her.

“It’s a girl,” I tell her and her eyes shine.
