Kaitlyn
I get out of the shower, feeling relieved from the hot water relieving all the tension in my muscles. I walk around my bedroom, flexing my neck and rubbing it. I walk over to my wardrobe and look through my clothes. I pick out a pair of camo inspired skinny jeans, a black singlet with ‘HOMIES’ written in white and a leather jacket. I slip those on after a black pair of underwear with a matching bra. Them I choose a pair of leather cargo boots. I straighten my hair and then put it up in a high pony tail and curl my hair a little to give it some volume.
I apply some light make up and go downstairs and Join the rest of the guys and have some fun.
When I got to the bottom of the stairs, I am immediately given a bottle of amber liquid. I stare at it and chuckle, “Harry, I’m not really one for bourbon.”
“Nor am I, but just drink it. It’s really nice,” He cajoles me and I smirk.
“Only if you do tequila shots with me,” I compromise with him.
“You have a deal, Riley,” He agrees and smirks as well.
“We’ll do those later. I need a bit of alcohol in me first,” I say and he chuckles.
“Sure thing,” He says and we cheers before I take my first mouthful of the alcoholic drink.
The party at Hayley’s has been going on for almost an hour now and Louis and Zayn are yet to arrive. Louis is usually fashionably late to things, so I’ve noticed. However, it’s not like Zayn to be this late. I’m a little worried about him, given his and Perrie’s rocky relationship at the moment. I shouldn’t be worrying about it though, I’m sure he’s fine. It’s only an hour into the party anyway.
I have been playing Just Dance with Hayley, Lou and Liam and kicked all their asses at it. Liam groaned and said that I cheated, given my past high school experiences as a cheer leader. After that, we all had a twerking competition to see who could pull it off better. Harry has quite an ass on him for the twerking business. It was quite a shock that Hayley’s friend, Jayde, beat everyone at twerking though. She was quite good.
We were now all playing Just Dance. Hayley, Jayde, Brianna and Lou were dancing while Liam, Harry, Niall and I were singing. We were really having a great time. Halfway through a song, Hayley’s front door opened and in came Zayn in black style military boots, a pair of black skinny jeans ripped at the knees, a white singlet and a red and black checked flannelette shirt over the top. When he looked up from wiping his feet on the door mat, his face lifted and his eyes came in contact with mine. That was when I saw his blotchy eyes, tear stained cheeks and miserable face.
I stalked over to him as fast as I could and wrapped my arms around his shoulders. He embraced me back and rested his head in the crook of my neck.
“Zayn!” I hear Hayley exclaim.
“Not right now, Hayley. It’s not the right time,” Zayn murmurs in my neck but I’m not so sure that she heard him.
“Kaitlyn, what’s wrong with Zayn?” She asks me, hooking her around my shoulders and groggily standing beside me.
“He’s a bit upset. But he’ll be okay. I’m just gonna talk to him. Could we go somewhere quiet?” I ask her and she nods.
“Yeah… umm… you can go out back. You know where the back door is,” She says and I lead Zayn out back.
I sit down in the bamboo outdoor lounge and Zayn sits next to me. At first he just sits there, a few tears slipping from his eyes, and looks at his hands that are rested in his lap. Then, he looks up at me and the tears fall more freely from his eyes.
“Zayn, tell me what happened.”
“P-Per-rie,” He stutters from crying to hard.
“Ssh, Zayn, just breathe okay? Just breathe,” I say and try to calm him. He nods and takes a few breaths, “Now, what happened?” I ask as I pull him into my embrace again as I see him calm, only a few tears falling.
Zayn pulls back and gives me a sad smile. He takes a deep breath and straightens up.
“I saw Perrie on my way here, it wasn’t intentional. I stopped to get something to eat on my way here and I saw her at the coffee shop down the road. She was talking to some guy there,” He pauses, “I found it weird, not only for the fact that she was talking with a guy, but also that she never comes this far out of central London. I was only there for about thirty seconds before I saw her… I saw her hold his hands over the table. Then he leant over the table and kissed her… and the worst part was… was that she kissed back. I left straight after that and came here.”
I couldn’t believe it, and I didn’t want to either. I knew that something was going to happen. I knew it in Bradford when he came home from dinner with Perrie. I just didn’t think – and I hoped – that it wasn’t this bad. Not as bad as Perrie being unfaithful.
“Are you sure, Zayn?” I asked cautiously, “Are you sure it was her?”
“Yes!” He exclaimed. Once he saw my surprised and sad expression, he back tracked, “I’m sorry,” He apologised softly and I nodded, “I am sure it was her though. The silver engagement ring shone under the dull lights of the coffee shop. And- and when she placed her hand over his, it was in clear view. Only the ring… the ring wasn’t on her ring finger… it was on her middle finger. Which confused me even more!”
“Zayn…” I was lost for words. I was totally rendered speechless.
Zayn must have known as he looked at my face after looking up at the sky at the sun that was just beginning to set, gave me a small, sad smile and whispered, “It’s okay.”
I could see more tears starting to come out of his eyes so I quickly pulled him back into the comfort of my arms. He willingly accepted my embrace and sobbed quietly into my shoulder as I cooed him and assured him that everything would be okay.
Though, as I’m sure we both knew, it definitely wasn’t going to be okay.
