An Angel For An Angel

It is 5am.

I am sitting in the lounge room.

I am fucking freezing.

Louis, being the lunatic that he is, decided that, because it's Christmas, he'd wake me up at 4:30 in the morning to open presents together. Sometimes I wonder if he is actually seven years old. I don't mind so much, I love the look of pure joy on Louis' face. From the corner of my eye I see him walk from the kitchen and over to to me with two mugs in his hands. He smiles brightly, hands me a mug and sits down next to me. How is he even this chipper at this time of the morning?

I hold the mug between my two hands to warm them up. The wafting steam coming up and tickling my nose is also a welcomed warmth. I hold it close to my mouth and breathe in the strong smell of coffee, then I take sip and sigh in satisfaction. It doesn't take me long to finish my coffee, and I'm already feeling like I'm in a better mood. Louis must sense this as he takes my mug, places it on the coffee table, and pulls me over with him to sit at the Christmas tree. Before I fully sit on the floor, he pulls me slightly to the left so I'm sitting in his lap instead. Kissing my temple softly, he hands me a red box, about the size of my palm, and smiles.

"Merry Christmas, my love," He whispers in my ear and I melt.

I pull the lid off the top of the box and slowly look inside. I smile slightly at the small Christmas decoration that is resting inside. It is a clear and frosted glass angel ornament. I look to Louis and smile at him before placing a kiss on his lips.

"Thank you, it's beautiful!" I tell him and he blushes.

"Well I thought you may need a decoration of your own for our Christmas tree, especially seeing as it's our first Christmas together. And I thought that the Angel represented you very well, to me anyway. I like to think of you as my angel. The way you look, the way you speak," He says with a wink, "And especially the way that you sing."

"Louis," I stumble over my words as I'm not quite sure what to say, "You're honestly the best things that has ever happened to me. I love you."

He gives me a small but loving kiss on the lips and hugs me tighter around my shoulders.

The rest of the morning drawls on. We open the rest of our presents from each other, with Louis commenting how well I know him because I got him some Manchester United merchandise and their new season jersey as well as a new watch because he kept complaining about his old one. While Louis got me a lovely pair of ear rings, a new DJ mixer and headphones to go with it. He then told me that he had another surprise for me, but I had to close my eyes, take his hand and follow him.

After we walk for a little bit through the house, we stop in what I assume is a room. Louis then let's go of my hand so I start to pull my blindfold off.

"Uh-ah, hang on a second. You can't take that off just yet!" He says quickly, so slip it back over my eyes and giggle.

A few moments pass before I feel Louis' hands on the sides of my head, slowly lifting the blindfold off. My eyes flutter a little as they adjust to the lighting and then all I see is a door. I'm confused at first before an all too familiar voice startles me.

"It'd be easier to see me if you turned around, you muppet," Rae says and I squeal.

I spin around and sure enough, there she is in all her beautiful glory. I can't believe my eyes so I run over to her and hug the life out of her. We both laugh as she hugs me back just as strong. I stand back and hold her at arms length and look at her. Her hair is shorter, browner and straighter, her tan is a little darker than last time I'd seen her, but all-in-all she looks great.

"When did you get here." I ask her.

"Louis picked me up from the airport at 2:30 this morning and I've been here since about 3:30. So he woke you up after I got settled in," She says and I look at Louis.

"I didn't even feel you get out of bed," I say, shaking my head.

He shrugs, "I was extra careful not to wake you. I didn't even sleep because I knew I had to be up in three hours to go and get Rae. So I just watched you while you slept," He says and then shakes his head, "That sounded so weird."

Rae and I giggle, "Weird but cute," I tell him and kiss his cheek.

He blushes and kisses me back in the same spot. We have a little bit of small talk then we walk downstairs and into the kitchen where Louis starts to prepare breakfast. Rae and I chat about her time back home in Cali and I sigh in envy, I wish I could go home, even just for a week. Then she starts dishing the goss on her and Ashton.

"Are you guys together or just fucking." I ask straight out and she shrugs.

"That's the thing, I don't know. He says he doesn't want to commit, but then he told me he loved me and-"

"Wait, what?!" I ask, cutting her off, "He said he loves you."

She nods and sighs, "Which is why I'm so confused. Like, why would he say he loves me but the doesn't want to commit to me. He says that we're not in a relationship, but we kiss like a couple, have sex like a couple, hang out like a couple, say 'I love you' like a couple and we don't see other people. So what are we then? Because I am so over being strung along."

"Maybe just talk to him. Explain how you feel and get him to see it from your point of view and then maybe he will understand. If not, say it's over. You shouldn't have to deal with that. You shouldn't stay in with someone if you're not happy. Learn from my mistakes, sunshine," I tell her and she nods sullenly.

Louis is then by my side with a small smile on his face. He places a plate in front of me and kisses my temple before pulling out the seat next to me and sitting next to me. I look at my plate once he's sat down and my mouth waters. It is piled high with bacon, sausages, egg, tomato and pancakes. I quickly dig into my food, probably looking like slob, but I'm so hungry.

Once we've finished breakfast, we get dressed to head to Harry's mom's house. I put on my new ear rings from Louis, a pair of black jeans ripped at the knees, a red sloppy joe jumper, white converses and a black beanie. Soon enough, we're on our way to Cheshire, which is 3.5 hours away, so we should be there just before lunch. I plug my phone into the stereo in Louis' car and put some music on to make the drive a little more bearable.
