We Seemed Like A Good Idea

Louis

We’ve passed the hour mark of Kaitlyn being unconscious and I’m starting to get a bit worried. Surely she should be awake by now. She has been murmuring things in her sleep that make absolutely no sense. She is sweating really badly and I’m not sure what to do about that.

“No!” She screams all of a sudden.

Her eyes are screwed shut, but I can see little tears welling in the corners of her eyes.

“Don’t! Please no! Not me or him! Lucas, don’t hit Louis!” She screams and I am so shocked that I cannot even move.

“What. The. Fuck?” I jump at the voice that is next to me. I turn and see Liam with a shocked look on his face.

“I don’t know? She started murmuring things and sweating badly, then she just started shouting,” I say quietly.

“She’s having a nightmare. You should probably wake her,” he suggests.

“No, don’t wake her if she’s having a nightmare,” Rae says coming into the walkway, “She used to have them when we were still in high school and I woke her up once. She literally thought she was still in the nightmare and that someone was after her. It lasted for like eight hours. So the last thing you want to do is wake her.”

“So do I just leave her?” I ask.

“Yeah, just keep doing what you’re doing. I saw you playing with her fingers and stroking her hair. Just keep doing that, it soothes her,” Rae says as she gets up and walks back to the lounge area.

Liam is still standing there with a concerned expression on his face. He looks at me with a small smile and goes back to the others.

I look back at Kaitlyn and she has tears falling down her cheeks leaving tear stains in their wake. Her breathing rapidly increases before she does an ear splitting scream and her eyes snap open to see mine.

Blue eyes search my won blue before she finally comes down to earth and properly wakes up,

“Louis?” She mumbles.

“Yeah, it’s me. Are you okay?” I ask quietly.

“A little shaken up, but I’ll be okay in a bit. Where are we?” She asks with a creased brow.

“We’re on the tour bus.”

“Okay,” she says with a small nod.

All too soon, there is a commotion in the lounge area and a swarm of people are suddenly surrounding my bunk.

“Are you okay?”

“Is she alright?”

“What was the scream for?”

“God, you scared me.”

“Fuck, I thought you died.”

“Language!”

“Guys, just calm down!” I say firmly.

“Sorry,” Zayn murmurs.

“Alright, now, what’s the problem?” I ask.

“What was the screaming for?” Harry asks.

“It was just Kaitlyn waking up from her nightmare,” I say matter-of-factly.

“I have the pain killers,” Liam says and I nod.

Kaitlyn outstretches her hand and instantly winces.

“That’d be the cracked ribs,” I murmur to her and she nods.

“Ironic isn’t it? We met because he fucked me up and gave me bruises; now we’ve left each other with me in a similar state,” she says.
