Kaitlyn

I wake from my peaceful sleep as my phone rings.

"You've got to be kidding me!" I groan to no one in particular out of frustration. I get up out of my warm bed and walk over to my dresser to retrieve my phone.

"Hello," I croak through the receiver.

"Hey, Kaitlyn, it's Rae."

"At this hour? Really?" I complain and I can tell she's rolling her eyes at me.

"Yes, it's important," She says adamantly.

"Okay, what's up?"

"Do you think you could come in today? Joseph called in sick and I really need someone to do the register while I do stocktake."

"What time?"

"As soon as possible?"

"Sure, I can do that. I'll be there soon."

"Oh good. Thank you so much!"

"No worries. Bye Rae," I say and end the call.

I groan. The one thing I didn't want to do today was work. I could have stayed home and played on my laptop and made new songs, or I could have started packing. In two weeks I am going to Australia for a couple months. My boyfriend, Lucas is over there at the moment with my brother, Nick. Rae is also coming with me. She is my travelling buddy. We started out at home, which is America, then went to Malaysia, Korea, Greenland, Norway, and now Amsterdam. Once we've finished in Australia, everyone heads back home to America while I travel to London to stay with my other brother for a while.

I walk over to my docking station, plug in my phone and press play. One of my remixes comes on and I belt out the lyrics.

Lately I've found myself thinking
Been dreaming about you a lot
And up in my head I'm your boyfriend
But that's one thing you've already got

The song has a dubstep back beat and becomes more techno.

That is one of my many talents, I create remixes. It's pretty easy once you know what you're doing. Another thing, I really like One Direction. I'm not entirely crazy, but I'm addicted to their music and I love their personalities. It's great too because I have a ticket to one of their concerts in Australia.

I trudge over to my wardrobe and pull out some black skinny jeans, a white vans singlet and a grey Nike jumper. I first slip on some fresh underwear and a bra, then put my outfit on.

I go back and pull out some white socks, put them on and some grey vans.

I walk over to my bathroom, brushing my teeth, apply some make-up and chuck my hair in a messy bun. With a huff, I walk to my kitchen and take my laptop off the counter and quickly check my Facebook. I like a few posts and shut my laptop down.

I go back to my room, grab my black Country Road duffel bag, chuck a towel in it, some black tights, a pink Lorna Jane workout top and some trainers as well. Today just feels like a day where I could get easily frustrated. And the best way for me to get rid of my frustrations is to hit the gym. I collect my phone, keys and purse, and head down stairs. I press the clicker on my keys and my car comes to life. She is a beautiful black BMW M3 2014 model.

My parents bought me it for my twentieth, my most recent birthday. My parents love to lash out with presents. I personally think it's because they feel bad for not being with me and my two brothers all the time.

My parents are authors so they are always traveling internationally. So to make up for that, they like to splurge on outrageous gifts for us. They are always paying for overseas trips, new cars, the latest models of technology... whatever. They try to assure us that it's because they love us and they have nothing better to do with their money. But, to be honest, I feel like it's guilt money. They feel guilty for not always being around. So they buy these extravagant gifts. They even payed for my car to be shipped with me wherever I go on my trip.
