Kaitlyn
Once Anna and I had gotten home, we went straight to the kitchen, into the fridge and made a sandwich and a milkshake. She helped me put the ice cream and flavouring into the blender, before I put the lid on and turned it on. We ate our food just in time for when her mom and dad came home.
Lyssa went upstairs and beckoned Anna after her while my brother joins me in the kitchen. He looks at the cutlery and utensils littered over the kitchen from mine and Anna's cooking and fondly shakes his head, his black hair flicking over his face.
"We were hungry and Anna wanted a milkshake," I murmured and he chuckled.
"I see. Just clean it up, okay? Once you've done that, grab your car keys and the stuff you're taking with me and then follow me in your car, 'kay?"
"Sure thing," I say with a nod.
A few moments later, once I have finished cleaning and have my belongings gathered in the trunk of my car, Anna and her dad are walking down the steps of the house. As they are walking, Anna stops abruptly which causes her dad to stop as well.
"Daddy, why am I coming with you? Why can't I stay with mommy?" The blonde girl asks.
"Because there is someone that I want you to meet," Her father replies.
"Who is it, daddy?"
"Someone very important to me, so let's not keep them waiting. They're probably waiting for us," he states and Anna nods.
"Why are you coming with us, Aunty Kaitlyn?" The six year old asks as I strap her into her car seat.
"Because I have to stay with daddy's friend while you guys go to America for a little while," I explain.
"Why can't you come with us?" She asks again.
"I don't want to go back home to California yet, honey. So I'm going to stay here for a little while," I say and she nods.
Once she is all buckled in, I go to my own car and drive behind my brother and my niece as he drives to his friend's house.
After about a twenty minute drive, I notice that the silver car I was following has pulled up in front of a small dark washed brick house, with a wrought iron fence along the front and a black Jeep parked in front of the house. I turn off my car and get out. My brother and niece wait at the steps of the small brick house while I lock up my car.
We go up the steps and I wait behind my brother as he knocks three times on the dark wood door. After a short moment, the door opens and I cannot see the person at the door as my brother is too tall and I can't see over him.
"Jonah!" The voice says happily, and it is a familiar female voice.
"Hello, love. Alright?" Jonah asks.
"Sure am. Is your sister here to stay with me like you said?" The girl asks.
"She is. She's just behind me," He states and he steps a side slightly and that is when the girl comes into better view.
She is a familiar person, just as I thought. Though now, her hair is a bit shorter - just an inch above her shoulders - and is all blonde rather than just shades of it. She is dressed in her iconic black skinny jeans with a maroon sloppy joe jumper and white low cut converses. Her brown eyes widen in surprise and her mouth pulls into an 'o'.
"Oh my god, Kaitlyn?" She asks.
"Hey, Hayley. It's been a while," I say to the shocked blonde.
"Sure has! Oh shit! Are you Jonah's little sister, KJ?"
