The Vampire in Hawkins (Eddie Munson x Reader)

Chapter Three

I stood away from the group, still feeling a bit ashamed as the adults that appeared seconds after Eleven removed the parasite, talked to everyone, and got filled in on what each group was up to. The two men, Dustin, and a little girl talked before they split off to pull the guns off the dead Russians. "Hey! Heads up. You can navigate, just from someplace safe."

"It's not that simple."

"The signal won't reach."

"Not with this. You need something with a high enough frequency band to relay with the Russians' radio tower. But for that to work, you need someone who has both seen their comms room and has access to a super-powered handcrafted radio tower. One is preferably already situated at the highest point in Hawkins. Oh, wait. That's me." Dustin smiles. "If you want us to navigate, you got us. But we need a head start." The man raises his eyebrows and Dustin looks at the little girl next to him. "And a car."

Dustin leaves with three others after who I was told was the town sheriff gave the beat-up teen his keys and Will's mom pulls him aside. Before she leaves with the other adults he pulls me over, "Mom, this is my new friend Y/N. She's, well...she's a vampire. BUT A GOOD ONE! She doesn't drink human blood." His mother looks at me confused and a bit weary but shakes my hand. "It's nice to meet you, Ms.Byers." She gives me a small smile, "Call me Joyce, and please help take care of my kid."

"I will. Promise."

We separate from the adults and load into Nancy's car even though I wanted to stay and help, but it doesn't start. Johnathan and I checked under the hood and saw the ignition cable was gone. A car revs in the distance caught our attention, and we turn to see Billy in his car. They all panicked, and we all rushed back into the mall. Mike immediately calls Dustin and his group for help since we no longer had a ride.

Nancy grabs a gun and loads it. "You're going to kill him, aren't you?" Max asked sadly. Nancy looks at her, "it's just a precaution." Will nods in agreement, "And not just against Billy. If he knows we're here, so does the Mind Flayer." I sigh, feeling bad for Billy but nod. "If there's any way I could save him, I will." She looks up at me but doesn't say anything.

Nancy looks at the totaled car behind her and laughs, "no chance that will drive huh?" Johnathan's eyes light up, "we don't need it to drive." I smile and glance his way, "we just need the ignition cable." The group got behind the car and tried to push it over, but dropped it when they couldn't. El then tried using her powers to move the car, but it only groaned as she struggled.

They then looked at me for help so I shrugged and stood to the side of the car and grabbed it with both hands where I could. With a grunt, I pulled the car down and it landed on its wheels. Johnathan and Nancy rushed to the hood but struggled to open it for a moment so I gently nudged them aside and ripped it open, breaking the latch and bending the hood.

Will grabs the back of his neck and thuds are heard above us. "Nancy!" Mike yells out to his sister once he notices, gaining her attention as Johnathan rips the cable out. The Mind Flayer breaks the glass ceiling and falls through, landing on all six of its legs as it roars in anger for getting its head ripped in half.

We all hide and the Flayer destroys the walkie as Dustin calls out to us for a reply. El and her group run but catch the Flayer's attention when they accidentally bump into something. I peek from behind the car as Lucas joins us, firing his slingshot to move its attention so that we could run back to the car to install the cable.

Billy was still waiting outside and sped towards us, almost crashing into the car while with Nancy in front and Johnathan still struggling to get it started, when the two teens that left earlier crashed into his car and saved the kids' lives.
