Human food was disgusting. Vampire blood was disgusting. I was starting to freak out. Ever since I drank John's blood, human blood, it's like I only just became a vampire, everything I knew about myself changed.

I woke up this morning to my skin burning because the sunlight broke through the crack in the curtains and pretty much cooked me. Now my arm has awful sunburn, and I scared the boys awake with my shriek of pain when the rough motel blanket brushed against it. To make up for it I took them to a diner nearby after making John get me sunscreen, and I put it on all the exposed areas on my body and had the boys get what they'd like for breakfast.

I shared a waffle with Sam since he has some teeth to chew with and didn't eat much, and waffles were my favorite breakfast food since I was a kid. That bite however was a bite of nightmares. I almost threw up at the taste even though it smelled delicious, and my stomach turned, so I went to the car to take a sip of one of the blood bags to calm my nausea and when I did, I threw up.

I was sobbing in the parking lot, finally upset about being fully turned and covering my eyes since I left my shades at the table. A small hand touched my shoulder and I looked up, Dean put my shades on my face and I saw his confused frown. "What's wrong aunty?" I wipe away my tears and he pulls me into a hug. "I'm just overwhelmed, Dean. A lot has changed in the past few hours and I wasn't expecting it."

"Hugs will make you feel better." He gives me a big squeeze and I hug him gently in return, still nervous about my new strength. "Thank you, Dean. I feel so much better." Holding him in my arms, I stood and adjusted how he sat on my hip before we went back into the diner. Once we were seated Sam asked to be held too, so I pulled him out of his high chair and onto my lap. "Are you okay?" Sam pulled on my hair to get my attention back and I pulled off my shades.

"No. What I thought I knew changed. I changed. I used to be able to tolerate human food, but now it's awful. It's the same with vampire blood. Now it's only animal or human and I'm still terrified to lose control to even try on a human."

"You did well last night."

"That was last night John. This is today." He sighs. "How about we practice then huh? Take my blood." My mouth drops, "no, John. I've already done too much. I drank your blood-"

"Which I made you do."

"-you are letting me call you guys family-"

He takes my hand, "because you are. Does being a true vampire make my opinion of you change? Not at all, and I can feel that you are a good person. My boys wouldn't have clung to you if you weren't good-natured. So as your family, let me help you."

I was very reluctant, to say the least. I paid our tab and we went back to our motel. Sam was out when we arrived and Dean looked like he was nearly there since he had a big breakfast. The tv was on and they were both tucked away as we sat at the table on the other side of the room.

John made sure the windows were shut tight before he got comfortable and held out his wrist. "Take two mouthfuls then stop." I licked my lips and grabbed his arm with my shaking hands, slowly lifting it to my mouth. "Drink."

"Don't rush me, John."

I looked over at the boys and confirmed with my senses that they were both asleep. With a final sigh, I bite into his wrist and he lets out a grunt in pain, I go to pull away but he stops me. "Drink two mouthfuls then stop." One gulp, then two, my body aches for a third and fourth, maybe a fifth as well but I fight the temptation and pull away. John smiled proudly, but looked lightheaded, "This was a bad idea, John." I helped him to bed and grabbed the chips I bought for a snack before I changed and a juice I'm sure the boys wouldn't mind sharing, and handed it to him.
