1 year later: 1987

Returning to the Estate after the honeymoon, Eddie and I were tackled as soon as we walked through the door by an excited Sam and Dean. The boys took to Eddie easily while he and John bonded over music and fixing their cars. "Auntie, Y/N! Uncle Eddie! You're back! How was Italy? Dad said we can go on a family trip out of the country when hunting season dies down this year." Picking up Dean with a smile, I held him tight in my arms until he was squirming for his release, "It was amazing. There were so many amazing sites and plenty to try and do. It was nice to stay and do things instead of running around fighting monsters."

"Don't get me started on the food," Eddie added as he tickled Sam in his arms. We all head to the living room with our bags and set the two kids down before retrieving our gifts. For the three Winchesters, we got charms with protective properties that will slow any life-threatening injury by a few hours and were good for three uses before they had to be recharged. The metal charm had to be replaced after five recharges but is recommended to replace it before then since it becomes weaker with each charge since the metal used wasn't made with the properties to prevent it.

It was a lovely work of witchcraft, voodoo, and vampire blood. Super expensive since Eddie and I were the last, but we made lots of money with the witch and the man who practiced voodoo- and they were free to sell the charms as they wished. The two became great allies to the Winchester-Colt. That was another change. Our last names.

Before the wedding, as a family, we agreed on the combination of our names (Eddie wanted to leave the Munson curse behind); However, if we were in a pinch we would use my original last name, L/N.

It wasn't until a few weeks later when I found what looked to be a simple salt and burn case, that I decided it was time for Eddie to finally join a hunt. Although Eddie claimed to have hated studying, he did really well when it came to reading up on the lore of the different supernatural beings and their killing methods. In between studying, John and I taught Eddie how to defend himself with weapons so he wouldn't rely on his powers alone.

Because Eddie had chosen to turn, it didn't take him long to accept and control his abilities unlike me who took a few years to just accept being turned. Since he has been doing really well since we left Hawkins a year ago, John and I agreed that it was time to get started with something simple even if it ends up becoming a disaster mid-hunt.

"Eddie," I call out. There was no reason to yell for our names in the house since we could hear every conversation. The Winchester's made sure to make any surprise plans for Eddie and me away from the house after a few ruined surprises. The smaller bat flew into the entrance hall where I waited with our bags and turned back with a confused look before the pieces clicked and a smile broke out on his face.

"Really? I can go on a hunt?"

I couldn't stop the smile breaking out on my face at the excited twinkle in his eyes as he began to bounce in place, "Of course. You've done really well helping John and me research the last year and there isn't much more I can train you on. So, I'm taking you out for your first case!"

Eddie whooped in excitement and transformed to zoom around the room. He had a habit of transforming when he was excited in the safety of the Estate just to zoom around. Sammy thought it was funny and Dean was only a bit upset at not being able to transform himself. Eddie didn't have a human transformation as I did, but he didn't mind turning into different flying animals to get by.

Like humans, I have to wear protective eye gear when I fly in full form, so I don't do it often unless necessary. Once he turn back, Eddie quickly looked over his weapons and made sure everything was stocked full before slinging it over his shoulder and giving me an excited smile.
