sorry I didn't upload last week. I've been feeling drained with no motivation to write anything to stay as ahead as I am in this story. I can say that this story will be around 18/19 chapters and that includes the three prologues I have planned.

-------------------------------------------------------

Steve was nice enough to let me crash in one of the spare rooms at his parent's house when he heard I was going to get a motel room. He told me about how he and Robin were going around town tomorrow to drop off applications for most of the day since they needed a job and how he learned about the upside-down.

I told him about how I joined in as well and answered questions he asked since he didn't really get the rundown. Overall I thought he was pretty cool to be around even if the charm he thought he was laying was more funny than cute.

I was nervous when I was finally in bed about what could happen tomorrow. What Dustin could say. It made my mind go crazy with different scenarios, so I pulled out my journal and wrote until my mind was calm instead of letting the anxiety eat away at me.

I ended up not sleeping.

Steve left early, rushing out the door since he was late, and gave me a quick goodbye. Once he was gone, I went out into the woods behind his house and fed on a few small animals to keep my hunger at bay, then slathered on my sunscreen before heading to the records store once it was almost time to meet Dustin.

Dustin was already there when I arrived and pulled me out of my car. "Great you're here. Act like you're on the phone or something while I go in." I couldn't help but smile at how excited he looked and looked up to see Eddie organizing and stocking records that must have arrived today. "Okay. I still don't know if I'll join you guys on Friday or not but I'll think about it depending on how this goes." He nods then runs into the store going straight to Eddie.

I got back into my car with a heavy sigh and pulled out my brick phone, holding it to my ear as I tuned in my hearing. "Hey, Eddie!" He turns and looks down at the pre-teen with a smile. "Hey there, Henderson. What brings you here?" Eddie puts the last record where it belongs and waves Dustin to follow him to the counter. "I'm just really excited because my best friend is back in town! It's been about three months since we last saw her since she's always moving for her job."

"I thought I was your best friend," Eddie says with a frown. "You are one of them." Eddie nods, the frown still on his face as he thinks since he remembered meeting a girl three months ago that had to leave town. He shakes his head, "bet she isn't as cool as me." Dustin rocks his hand in front of him, "Eh."

I laugh at Eddie's shocked face. "What? No way." Dustin nods and crosses his arms with a smirk, "Yes way." I hear Eddie scoff and cross his arms as well, "Well now I have to meet her." Dustin briefly turns and makes eye contact with me and I turn my face away as Eddie turns as well and I pretend to talk on my phone. "That her?"

I turn my face back towards them when I feel the stares go away and continue to listen in. "Yeah. Her name is Y/N. I think she mentioned you once before we met." Eddie shifts and leans on the counter, trying to act disinterested, "oh yeah? W-what did she say?" Dustin gives Eddie a sly smile, "Why? Interested?"

Eddie's heart pounds and his face flushes before he scoffs and looks away, "NO!.....okay, maybe a little." Dustin's teasing smile widened. "She said you both met here at the record shop and thinks you're really cute." My face flushes and my mouth drops at the audacity of this kid. "She said so herself," He then adds. Eddie ducks his head and looks back towards where I'm parked outside and I quickly act like I'm looking at myself in the mirror with my already lowered sun visor.
