Being the assistant to one of the coldest CEOs in New York was very overwhelming at times. But when that same CEO happens to be your husband, things get even more interesting.

Loki Laufeyson. CEO of one of the best-known publishing companies in New York. Most authors and journalists come to us to publish their works. But not all manage to get their work out. Loki was stubborn and fussy when it came to certain people, press and topics.

"Mr. Laufeyson, you have a meeting with Mr. Linwood in 15 minutes. Would you like me to get you something to eat before?" I asked sitting on the brown leather couch Loki had sitting on the far wall of his office. His office was quite large, floor to ceiling windows behind his desk, giving a clear view of the bustling city. His desk was big enough to be confused for a twin mattress. He was typing away at his laptop, a slight scowl placed on his porcelain face. He tilted his head towards me, his face softened for a second, he sat up straight and stretched his back, standing from his chair and walking towards me. Taking a seat beside me and placing a cool hand on my knee

"I'm fine darling. Are you alright?" he asked gently, rubbing soft circles on my knee. Loki was not the kind of person to show much affection in public, but when it was just the both of us, in our own space.. He was one of the most affectionate people I know. His hand was always touching some part of me. From my thigh to playing with my hair, he was always showing some kind of touch affection. I smiled and nodded

"Perfect. What time can we go back home today?" I asked. I loved working alongside Loki, it was one of my favorite things.. But my coworkers dont exactly fall into that same category. Most of them were jealous of me being close to Loki, more specifically, living with him... and perhaps the whole marriage was also a problem for them but who knows.

"Darling, you know if you say the word were getting out of here. Anytime you wish to go back home we can go." He said with a small smile. I leaned into him for a moment and closed my eyes, letting the chill of his body envelop me, he was chilly and warm at the same time, which made me want to stay there forever. There was a knock at the door which made Loki pull away and stand, sitting back at his desk and shooting me a smile

"Enter." He called out, smoothing out his white shirt and watching as one of the workers walked into the room. "Miss Laura, do you need something?"

"Mr. Laufeyson, I came to discuss something with you. In private." She said, giving me a side eye, I stared at her unimpressed

Laura has always been the main woman to flirt with Loki, she always tried to make a move on him, but he wouldnt let her get far. Today she was trying extra hard to win him over, with a tiny pencil skirt and a white blouse that showed just enough cleavage to not get her dress coded or fired. She wore her hair back in a tight, high ponytail and glasses that were very clearly blue light glasses.

"If you have something to say you can say it now." Loki said, I could tell he was already annoyed and on the verge of firing her. I stood and walked over to his desk, setting down the papers I was recently working on and grabbing my laptop from one of the drawers.

"I'm afraid this discussion has to be in private.. No one else can know about it." she said, her voice dropping a few octaves. I inhaled deeply and resisted the urge to roll my eyes. As I went to walk away, Loki grabbed my waist and pulled me onto his lap.

"I tell my darling wife everything that happens when she's not around. So, I don't see how it will make much difference." He drawled, I bit back a smile when I saw Laura huff

"Whatever. It wasn't that important anyway. See you later, sir." She said, turning around, walking to the door she added a little more swaying of the hips to her steps.

"Miss Laura?" I called out, she stiffly turned around and gave me a tight-lipped smile "I suggest you see yourself out the building."

"What? Are you letting everyone out early today?" she asked Loki, He paid her no mind as his forehead rested on my back

"No. Only you.." I responded, she looked at me confused as I grinned a little wider, I felt Loki smile against my back for a moment "You're fired sweetheart."

"What?! Loki, you cant let her do that!" she whined, I didn't hold back my eyeroll that time, Loki lifted his head up and stared at her

"It's Mr. Laufeyson to you ma'am. And I was planning on doing it anyway. Goodbye miss Laura." he said, leaving no room for argument. She huffed and spun around walking out the door and slamming it shut behind her.

"I'm so ready to go home.. You?" Loki mumbled into my shoulder, I hummed in agreement and almost got whiplash when he stood, his hands grabbed my laptop and placed it on his desk, wrapping his arms around my waist and hugging me tightly. We stayed like that for a while, mumbling random words of affirmation or sweet nothings every once in a while, he took my hand in his and began to walk out the office, we walked out the building and got into his car, driving back home where we spent the rest of the day lying in bed and watching movies or reading.

Being Loki's wife had it's cons.. But those cons are the reason we were brought together. We both need each other more than oxygen. And right now... I'd rather trade my lungs than give up our marriage. He's mine and I'm his.. And that's how its supposed to be.
