Childhood best friends come and go. But if only this friendship didn't have to end so fast...
Flashback 11 years ago///
"I don't want you to go..." Loki said softly, his small hands holding mine, I held tears in my eyes as we sat on the bench in the garden. I didn't want to go either... but I had no other choice.
"I don't want to leave. But daddy said I have to train to be his best warrior, whatever that means..." I whispered, he shook his head and looked down at his lap, tears falling down his cheeks, matching the ones on my own face.
Father wanted to take me back to Alfheim to train to be a warrior, he said I was already to the age for training and that I would be the youngest warrior in all Alfheim... but I didn't want that, I wanted to stay here, in Asgard. With my best friend.
But my father wasn't going to allow that, he didn't like Loki for some reason, and it made me sad because Loki didn't do anything.
"Then let's run away! I know a place where we can stay but the food-" he said, but his sentence was cut off from me shaking my head, he frowned and stared at me
"No Loki. I need to go, if not daddy will not be happy." I said, standing up sadly, he stood up also and hugged me tight, I hugged him back as we both cried our eyes out.
The next day my father dragged me out of bed and took me back to Alfheim, not even letting me say a proper goodbye to my friend.
From that day on, I promised myself to do anything in order to get my best friend back. Even if that meant escaping the monster of my father.
Present time\\\
I stood with my sword drawn, my competitor standing ahead of me with his own weapon. I made circles around him, examining him for his weak spots. I pounced at him and grabbed his elbow with one hand and twisting it behind his back, holding my sword to his neck, making him drop his weapon before kicking it away.
The coward tapped out before I could threaten him, I let him go and heard the applause around me, making me roll my eyes and walk to the exit. I didn't get far before my father stopped me and grabbed my arm. I twisted out of his hold and pointed the tip of my sword at him
"Now, now pumpkin. Why so aggressive?" he said with a cocky smile, I held my breath for a second and tipped my head.
Two more hours... that's it. Two hours till I can get away from here. I looked up at the moon's position, realizing it wasn't two hours but one, making me even more eager.
"I'm sorry sir. I'm still riled up from the fight, I didn't notice it was you." I lied, he seemed to believe it because he nodded his head and looked me up and down.
"Don't make it happen again. Understood?" he said with distaste in his voice. I mumbled a yes sir and he left. I made my way to my favorite tree, letting myself get lost in the dark. One hour till I'm officially 1,054 years old. Or well, 17 in Midgardian years.
And I'll be gone from here. In Alfheim when you turn 1,050 you are legally allowed to leave to another realm, but my father had told me that I still needed to finish my training. But I was finished now, and I'll be legally allowed to leave.
I was counting down the minutes, the seconds. The wind blew through my hair and the moon was my source of light. I could hear the rustling of the leaves above me, and the hoots of the owls.
