Heading off I think about Maya's reaction to when I got home...

I opened the door to see Maya dashing at me and engulfing me in a hug. "I heard what happened to Justin, I thought you left too" she whispered into my shoulder. "Don't worry, Maya, I was out with Alex trying to find out more about the situation" Maya looked at me. "Is Alex okay? She didn't stop by at Moorland yesterday" "Yes, shes fine, she was checking out the castle before we got stuck in this little.. predicament" Maya visibly relaxed, and had spent the next hour or two vigorously texting someone on her phone

I wonder who she had texted..? Reaching the manor I look for Alex, not seeing her anywhere I ask the Baroness. "Alex hasnt been here since she left with you yesterday" I sighed frustratedly. "Could you do something for me first though? I found out about the oil machines.. and theyre stolen!" The baroness had never looked so alive before, her pale skin almost glowing with exitement. "This might be insanely unprofessional, but oh well, I want you to ride to Herr Kembell and tell him that the Baroness of Silverglade will kick his sorry little butt and destroy his business worldwide if he doesnt stop drilling at Everwind" I nodded, and she thanked me, promising that the manor would always be open for me.

"You... what?!" Herr Kembell looked at me angrily, his face turning a bright red. "There must be a mix up with the serial codes... thats what you were doing here yesterday!" Herr Kembell sighed frustatedly. "I'll stop drilling until I figure this out, I can't have my reputation ruined" Grinning at him, I leave him alone.

"He was mad? Ohoh I can only imagine" The Baroness' eyes were sparking with joy and youth. "You saved me a lot of money today, Y/N, but I wont keep you waiting, Alex just arrived" The Baroness nodded towards where Alex was dazily riding in on Tin-can, practically half asleep.

"Sorry for being late I was.. busy last night" Alex greeted me with a yawn. "You wanna tell me what you were doing?" I ask wiggling my eyebrows "talking to a certain roomie of mine?". Alex's cheeks flushed a shade of red "what makes you say that??" "She was texting some last night and giggling at her phone. She mumbles what she writes, you know?" Alex's cheeked somehow got even darker before she shook it off. "We've got things to do Y/N" she tried to change the topic, and as the very good friend I am, I let her.

"Before we head to Firgrove for Mr. Sandman, maybe we should check the area for any clues on Linda? I know you probably wan't to start where we left off yesterday, but shes a very dear friend of mine and-" "yeah, sure" Alex smiled at me. "We should search behind places, maybe behind the stable?" I nodded. Riding over we search thorougly.

Amongst the bushes we find three things, a pair of glasses, a cellphone and a page from a book. "This.. this is Linda's phone, and these are her glasses, I'm assuming this much be a page from one of her books" Alex looked shocked as we searched through the bush. "It's strange that she would leave these things behind if she left willingly.." I mumbled. "It is weird... the page! It's from Peter Pan! That's her favorite book!" Alex shook the paper in her hand creating wrinkles on it.

I watch Alex unlock her phone and open the message app.

Truth. Come alone.

"It was behind the stable we found Linda's things... something must have happened to her" Alex murmured. We were currently sitting at the same rooftop café we had sat in yesterday, overlooking the stable. It was empty, too early for anyone to be here except us and the staff. "Should we try and call the number?" I suggested, sipping my drink. "Good idea" Alex said, clicking call on the phone.

"Hello, youre speaking to Godfrey the butler, who am I talking to? Hello?... Hello??" Godfrey had hung up the phone shortly after that. "Was that Godfrey? No way! That's freaky..." Alex murmured, finishing her bagel. "Maybe it's a misunderstanding and she dissapeared after talking to him?" I asked. "We should still ask him about it" Alex declared. "Are you finished with your drink?" "Almost" "chug it" "you can" "nice, thanks" Alex chugged the rest of my drink, before we got up and left, heading down towards Godfrey.

We found Godfrey standing outside enjoying the summer air. "Godfrey!" Alex called. "Hm? Hello, how may I help you" "We called you from Linda's phone, what 'truth' did you want to speak to her about" Alex questioned him almost immediatelly. Godfrey tensed up the minute she finished speaking. "I'm really busy right now, I uh, I cant talk right now, goodbye" Godrey hurried off and dissapeared around the corner. When we turned the corner we saw a door get shut and locked behind him.

Alex sighed, and her lip quivered. "That rat was our last chance at finding Linda" I placed a consoling hand on her shoulder. "It might not be the last chance, Alex. If one page of her book fell out, maybe theres a trail of her pages?" I asked. Alex looked up at me, with light in her eyes. "You are a genius Y/N" she smiled at me. "Lets go" she whistled for Tin-can and he trotted over. Calling for Rosie she walked over too. Suprised she would respond to her name, I felt my cheeks hurt from the smile on my face. I was glad Alex was behind me mounting her own horse and not seeing my smile because of a horse that would come because her name was mentioned.

Riding down a dirt path to the side of the manor we found many pages from a book, some blown a bit off trail because of the wind, but not enough to hindering us from getting back on track. Page 21... 40.... 1... 67...102... the trail leads all the way to the castle
