A/N: heyho i apologize for my fucked up schedule. Yall are meeting Lisa soon I promise😭

"This doesnt make sense? Is she inside the castle?" Alex asked looking up at the different towers of Silverglade castle. "I mean, there are rumours of a ghost in the castle.. do you think the ghost isnt an actual ghost?" "Are you implying Linda is the one in the castle? That might be possible"

A message notification was heard, and Alex opened her phone. "Ah, shit. I need to run some errands for my mom real quick, here have this super duper good voice recorder, I 'borrowed' it from James. Can you listen out for the cries and if you hear them record it on the recorder? Shoot me a message once you've got somethin' yeah?" Alex handed me a recorder with a mic on the end from her backpack. "Yeah, uh I don't think I have your number though" Realization hit Alex's face. "Ah! Right» Alex flashed her number to me, and I typed it down on my phone.

Alex
What were you and Maya texting about last night?

Alex looked at the message I sent her and blushed, mumbling a quick 'bye' before dashing off into Silverglade Village.

It took about 20 minutes for the crying to start, and it lasted for 10 minutes before slowly quieting down until it was barely being heard.

Meet me at the library

Dismounting Rosie I gently scratch her forehead, before heading inside the library. It was quiet inside and the only one in there was Alex sitting on her phone. She looked up at me as I closed the door and she shoved the phone in her pocket, patting a chair next to her.

She listened to the audio and the minute it was done she turned to me. "Thats definetly Linda's voice. Godfrey must be holding her captive in there! We must confront the baroness, she has to let us in there, or at least Linda out!" Alex got up and almost smacked the chair into the ground if she didn't catch it.

"Excuse me! Baroness? Can we go into your castle?" Alex asked in the possibly most straight forward way someone could ever ask anything. The Baroness looked mortified and shook her head "no. No one is going into that castle" "But in there-" "what happens in my castle is none of your business, goodbye" The Baroness nonchalantly walked away, and into the same door Godfrey had done an hour ago.

Alex sat me down on the stairs leading up to the library. "So what we know so far is that Linda is locked in the castle, most likely by Godfrey ordered by the Baroness, who has a Husband, John Sandman, whom she claims to be dead, and who is also the grandfather of Justin. And Justin went to see his grandfather with Sabine..." Alex recapped. "Should we call the police?" I asked. "Mm.. not yet, I don't think the police can be of much help, plus the only 'police' person is the security guard at Fort Pinta." Alex stared out at the little piece of the forest you could see through the entrance gate. "Hang on! The Baroness' husband! He lived in Firgrove! These two cases can't possibly not be tied together! Let's head to Firgrove and check out if any of the elders there know anything!"

Riding past a construction site I could read the faint words 'here comes Starshine Ranch —a western dream' on the fence around it. I heard Alex mumble something about Lisa would have enjoyed that but I decided not to press on it. For all I knew it was her dead sister.. or aunt.. or something.

"Hello welcome to Firgrove" A blonde welcomed us, tightening her ponytail. "Do you know anyone here who's lived here for long?" I ask. "Hm? Yes, there are a lot of old people around here who absolutely love talking about the past... much to my dismay" she mumbled the last part under her breath. "Mrs. Packard is the most active of the elders, she always enjoys a quality conversation about the olden days, check her out." She pointed off towards a wooden house that was... looking like exactly every other house in this village.

"Hello there, how may I help you two?" Mrs. Packard asked, placing plates onto the table outside her home, it looked like she was awaiting guests. "Do you know anything about John Sandman?" I asked, leaning forward and resting my head on Rosie's crest. "John Sandman? Hmm yes that name does ring a bell... I think I payed rent to him when I moved here... and maybe... hm... maybe its him I'm still paying rent to... I don't know" Mrs. Packard sat down in one of the wooden chairs next to her table.

"You payed rent to him? Was he a businessman?" Alex asked. "Hm? No... he worked in the Village Council... or at leasthe did in '59... Oh! You could ask Mr. Franklin at the town hall to see a picture of the councilmen from 1959" Mrs. Packard suggested. "Ah! Will do, thank you Mrs. Packard" Alex smiled, turning to me. "Shall we?" "We shall"

An old man sat on the stairs to the village council, looking distraught. He looked up at us as we walked closer and he greeted us. "Do you have a picture of a 'John Sandman'?" Alex asked hopefully. The old man snorted "I do, actually... or I did, this girl came up and asked to see the picture too! And she cut him out of the picture! Can you believe that?! You youngsters nowadays have no regard for relics, that was a 50 year old paper not something on a computer!" "Was her name Sabine?" Alex interrupted him. "Hm? How should I know? She was all cloaked up and took off on a black horse. Now, shooshoo, I've had enough young people terrorizing me" He wailed and shooed us away.

Alex stopped as we exited Firgrove and nudged me. "Hey, Y/N? Isn't that... Sabine? It is Sabine! Lets go!" Alex took off with me not far behind. I caught up to Sabine and she looked at me with piercing eyes. She took off up the mountain and I had to slow down and enter the path behind her. "Y/N!" I heard Alex shout from the bottom. I came to a quick stop, almost flying off Rosie.

Sabine was long gone, and I looked at Alex with an annoyed look. "I almost had her!" Alex grinned at me and waved a piece of paper. I trotted down to her. "She lost it in the turn" now it was my turn to smile. We both looked at the picture of John Sandman and Alex sucked a breath in through her teeth.

I looked at Alex. "This... its Mr. Sands, I've been up against him before he's the leader of Dark Core!" Alex shook the picture. "Dark core?" "Imagine GED but like a thousand times more evil..." Alex looked off to where Sabine had ran. "John Sandman is Mr. Sands... Justins grandfather...!" Alex tensed up. "How couldn't I realize this before?" Alex rambled "if Mr. Sands is Justin's grandfather... then he is in serious trouble!"

"I'll talk to Elizabeth, you don't have to come along, maybe she has can help us" before I could reply Alex left.
