Chapter 9

I woke up with a huge headache. 'What happened?' I thought to myself. Just then a huge flood of memories came rushing back to me. I remembered the dead bodies, the blood, and Tyler! I remembered that him and Nathan are vampires! I sat up in my bed but to my surprise it wasn't my bed or my room for that mater.

"Are you okay?" I looked to my side to see Nathan sitting next to the back of the room, in the corner. I jumped out of the bed and ran for the door. But as soon as I got there, Nathan was there blocking my way, "please I cant let you leave, until I explain to you what happened," I couldn't speak I just looked into his eyes, to see if I could see hate. But all I saw was sadness and loneliness in his eyes.

I shook my head and went back to the bed to sit. Nathan pulled a chair over to sit by the bed, with me.

"Listen-" Nathan started but i cut him off,

"No! I am done listening to all of your lies, and your pathetic bro-," I stopped suddenly. Tyler, Tyler bit me last night! I reached for my neck and felt two bumps where he had bit me. "OH MY GOSH! Tyler bit me last night, Nathan!" I yelled

"Calm down, Rose. Your going to be okay," He reached for my hands but I shook them away,

"No! please don't touch me," I pleaded, I still afraid of what Nathan was.

"Okay, but I still need to talk to you," Nathan pleaded

I looked at him, I started to calm down. When I could finally sort of felt safe again, I shook my head at Nathan, then he began.

"Rose I'm so sorry, that this happened to you, Tyler promised me that he would leave you out of our fight but he lied to me, like he always does. I'm sorry," I looked into Nathan's eyes and I felt he was just Nathan. Not Vampire Nathan.

"I know Nathan, I really do," I said still looking deep in his eyes, "but could you answer one question for me?" I said in a small whisper. Nathan looked at me in confusion

"Yeah, sure what is it?"

"When Tyler was talking to you, I heard about a person named Lily,"

Nathan's eyes widened in surprise. Then I scratched the back of his neck.

"You heard about her," Nathan said looking at me, very embarrassed at the topic.

"No, I just heard her name, but who was she," I said scooting closer to Nathan.

Nathan looked at me, "she was my first love," he said simply. I felt my heart drop to my stomach.

"Oh," I said not quiet meeting his eyes. Nathan placed his fingers under my chin, and made my head go up, I looked straight into his eyes, he pulled me close. It looked like he was going to kiss me. but to my surprise he went straight to my ear, he whispered, "Don't worry about her, it was in the past," Nathan said pulling away.

Before he met my gaze again, he kissed my cheek. I felt warm and safe to be with Nathan, I knew that he would keep me safe, he would always risk his life for me, and I didn't like that feeling I quickly pushed Nathan away I got off of the bed again, Nathan turned around to look at me.

"Can I ask you something," Nathan asked. I looked at him.

"Yes," I said still looking into Nathan's light blue eyes.

"Before I came for you, I heard you say," Nathan stopped to think about what he was going to say, "my name and that you forgave me," Nathan looked at me.

I kept me gaze on him, I felt me cheeks start to heat up, "I was just thinking that you were probably freaking out as much as me, and even if you didn't come to me I wanted to let you know that I will be okay, and that it's not your fault," I said looking at the ground, suddenly embarrassed.

Nathan stood up and stood in front of me. I looked up at him. we stood there, looking at each other. "You mean so much to me Rose, you just don't know it yet," Nathan said coming close to me. I kept my gaze on him. Nathan pulled me close into a warm embrace.

I leaned in and whispered in his ear, "I know," he hugged me tighter.
