School. Why did I have to go back to school? I walked up the marble steps to my locker. I turned the corner, and saw Nathan leaning up against the wall. He was looking down at his shoes in some sort of trance, but he did look cute.

"Hey," I said pulling him out of his trance, "you know you don't have to follow me around everywhere, I'll be fine,"

"I'm still worried about you," Nathan said with a nervous smile on his face.

"I know, but I will be just fine. Just try to keep Tyler far awa-" I stopped talking. I looked down the hall and saw Tyler walking toward us, he had a black leather jacket on and he spiked up his clean black hair. I panicked, I was going to run, but I felt Nathan's hand go into to my hand and I didn't feel afraid anymore.

"What are you doing here Tyler?" Nathan asked, he was fuming with anger

"Oh, I decided that my little brother needed somebody to look up to at this crap hole," he said smirking at me and Nathan, "I thought 'why not me?'"

Tyler began to walk toward me. Nathan jumped in front of me. Releasing my hand. I wanted to grab it back, but I was still in a state of shock to move or even speak.

"No! I told you to stay away from Rose," Nathan said in a low whisper. I noticed that a lot of people had stopped and looked over at the commotion happening in the hallway. I knew that Nathan was going to start throwing punches at Tyler and I couldn't let that happen. No mater how bad I wanted it to, Tyler deserved to get his butt kicked, especially by Nathan.

I put my hand into Nathan's and gave a comforting squeeze, I pulled him away from Tyler, and pushed him closer to me. He looked down at me and gave me an apologetic smile, I smiled back at him.

"Um, hello, I'm still here," Tyler said in a sarcastic tone. Nathan looked at him, he pulled me close behind him and walked away. he bumped into to Tyler and whispered, "after school," Tyler yelled as we walked away from him, "GREAT, CAN'T WAIT!"

When we were far enough away from Tyler, Nathan let out a sigh of relief.

"I'm so sorry, Rose," Nathan said looking down at me.

I nodded and pulled him into a warm embrace. Nathan's breathing hitched, and he repeated the action. I whispered into his ear, "I forgive you," he pulled away, and looked into my eyes, "Rose Wilsburg, you are amazing," I looked away from his gaze, I was having mixed emotions on how I felt about Nathan. Part of me was afraid of him, but the other part loved him just the way he was. I just didn't know which path to follow. And what would happen if I followed the wrong one?
