(m/n) never understood human's ultimate contradictions as he grew up.
They would ask kids not to scream and then yell at them for minor inconveniences.
They would ask teenagers not to drink or smoke but then proceed to do both, with the only difference being that theirs was legal.
They would ask their children to be in bed early, and then they would spend the whole night awake.
For that, (m/n) had never understood adults.
And he never cared to understand. All he knew was that he would never let anyone control him.
He watched his other half live, watched him grow, and experienced betrayal, abuse, and heartbreak by his side.
And then, before (m/n) knew it, he never cared at all. He swore he wouldn't make the same mistakes. Since then, getting attached to people is not a course for the faint-hearted.
Yet he tried.
Because (m/n) is many things, but he follows their rules.
He took care of Shoto as best as he could. He was nice to people he didn't know because his alter-ego called them his "friends." (m/n) isn't a saint, but he can pretend.
Hawks, however, will never be forgiven for what he did.
Because if there's one thing (m/n) hates more than people trying to control him, it is liars . Tragically, Hawks happened to be both.
