It's crazy what you do for a friend
The Neighborhood

Aria panted as she laid in the sand, catching her own breathe as Portis coughed back to life, his barely stable body walking over to her.

"Thank you." He nodded quickly, staring down at her as she laid, soaked and angry.

"You lied to us." She gritted through her teeth, glaring at him harshly as she looked him up and down, "Who are you?"

Portis glanced over his shoulder, his face visibly dropping, even paling. He turned back to her panicked, "Oh God. You should get out of here."

The ATV's revved their engines as loud as possible, the tire marks seeping into the sand as residents threw themselves out of their path, Aria immediately panicking. The fact that she was alone made her stomach twist, she didn't look behind her, she ran straight.

Her clothes sticking to her as she watched men get out of trucks, swarming the area with guns and bulletproof vests, she whimpered to herself, crawling behind crates, bending down till she reached the sand.

She squeezed her eyes shut, barely breathing. Her heart beat making her ears ring.

Glancing up, her eyes caught the side of a policeman. She gasped lowly, the noise making him snap his head over, ultimately throwing down the bin that was covering her, his hands immediately reaching for her.

Aria kicked her leg up, hitting him straight in his pelvis region, he fell to the ground in pain. She wiggled her way out, not getting far as a man grabbed her, his fingertips digging into her bare arms, she squealed, throwing her arms around before being held down by another man.

"Let me go!" She cried out, being thrown into the back of the pickup truck, coming face to face with an armed man, she looked between the gun and the stern look on her face, knowing she wouldn't make it far without being shot.

Portis wobbled over to her, her face scrunching up in betrayal, a look of disgust washing over her.

"I saved your life." She breathed shakily, her voice low.

"I know. I know. I'm sorry. I gonna try to help you, okay?" Portis nodded, his own breathe heavy, his chest heaving up and down, "I swear, I didn't know it was gonna be like this. Look, if you don't fight, if you just do what they say, these guys prob... probably won't hurt you."

With tears building in her eyes, she spoke to him, her tone breaking, "What did Ward promise you?"

"Who?" He asked in complete confusion. It seemed genuine, Aria furrowed her brows, "Hey, just take my advice, do what they say. Good luck."

The back of the truck shook as the engine started, she blinked away the building tears, overlooking the ocean, the plane almost submerged. The Pogues no where to be seen. She knew they'd find her, I mean, they had too. In that moment, she wished she was more like her father. To self conceded to help anyone but himself.

She stared at her fingernails the whole ride, sensing the guards disapproving stare on her the whole time, she picked her head up as she heard distinct chatter.

A multiple story house with acres of land surrounding it, guards on every square inch, armed. Her eyes widened as the truck began to move again, this time closer to the house.

The guards talked indistinctly to themselves before grabbing Aria harshly, ignoring her groans and pleads as they dragged her into the house, the front door being opened by a maid.

Their grip loosened once she was in the house, she shrugged them off of her. Her eyes tracing every detail, lips parted slightly.

"Take her upstairs. The Orinoco Room." The housekeeper directed the guard, the man nodded.

He shoved Aria forcefully, grabbing her right arm, "This way. Up. Inside."

She was thrown into the room, her head snapping towards him as he stood in the doorway, she approached him, "Why am I here? Who are you working for?"

"Dinner at eight." He blinked, ignoring her questions, "I'd clean up."

The door shut loudly, the lock being turned was even louder, Aria slammed her fists against the white paint, chipping off the door, shaking the doorknob, "Just tell me what they want!"

Aria brushed her hair away from her face, seething with anger as she paced around the room. Her eyes catching a glimpse of the closet, four dresses hanging. She lifted the small note attached the one of the dresses.

PICK YOUR SIZES

She rolled her eyes, her fingertips dancing along the small size, a deep but electric red, long enough to touch her ankles. She knew she was stuck and there was not point in putting up a fight. There was at least one hundred guards surrounding the whole property.

She ran her finger through her hair, then running them down the silk dress. The perfume laying on the dresser was half empty by the time she finished spraying it, the ocean can only clean so much.

Sitting on the bed with her legs crossed, she was invaded with thoughts, them being interrupted by the door opening, her boots hitting the ground.

"He's ready." The housekeeper poked her head in, leaving the door cracked as Aria followed her out, her eyes observing everything as her feet thudded against the staircase, the housekeeper gesturing towards a seemingly empty room.

She walked inside, her eyes landing on a man perched by the window, her voice was hesitant, "Um, excuse me?"

The person she thought was the man behind her being here turned around, revealing it wasn't him. Rafe Cameron, stood tall, a dark blue suit tight against his body, a glass in his hand, he scrunched his face up as he stared at her.

"No, I knew you and Ward were behind this shit." Aria cursed, getting closer to him, her cheeks red and hot.

He didn't back down, the space between them short as he got closer, making it known he wasn't intimidated, "What are you talking about? You trying to weasel in on my deal?"

As she opened her mouth to reply, she quickly shut it as another voice joined them.
