Chapter 16

Chrysalis' POV

//July 20, 2017. Outside the Wonder Bar, 2:15 PM//

Powerful.

That was the only word I could use to describe how I felt touching the Magatama.

I was still rubbing the Magatama over in my hands when Maya, Kay, and all the other girls came over. Katherine, Meilin, and Quinn went off with their friends, so I was the only one at the Wonder Bar still. All of the crazy characters had left after the commotion as well.

"Hey, Chrys," Maya says. "I can call you that, right?"

I nod without thinking. The Magatama in my hand distracted me from all else.

Pearl must have noticed (and boy am I happy she did!), because she touched the Magatama. "May I?"

Anybody with or without a brain would know what's happening. I nod in excitement and hand her the Magatama. I wondered how this would look. In the games, Pearly just went off screen for a second and came back with a charged up Magatama.

She held it tightly in her fingers. Her bangs rustle in some unknown breeze. Pearly (I'll have to ask if I can call her that, since it's pretty much habit from me talking about her) closed her eyes and her own Magatama started to glow. She stays that way for a few seconds and I try not to stare. Pearly opens her eyes and gives me the Magatama. "Here you go."

I take it from her and grin. "Thanks, Pearls." Pearly smiles. I can tell she doesn't mind. And is it just me, or do her cheeks look like they're glowing?

"Should we head back to the school?" Ema asks.

Athena nods. "Trucy can put on her magic tricks for us back there."

Trucy smiles. "Sounds great!"

//July 20, 2017. Trucy's Room, Anime High, 2:29 PM//

All of us-with the exception of Trucy-sit on Trucy's bed. The magician stands in front of us. "Alright! Detectives and spirit mediums, thieves and attorneys, let me present you with magic tricks courtesy of Troupe Gramarye!" So that's how you pronounce Trucy's 'last name.'

"I'm going to start with the Amazing Mr. Hat!" Trucy does something-not sure what (I should ask, if the magician will reveal her secrets)-and Mr. Hat comes out and grabs her hat.

"Herlo, Frauleins! Did I sound like Prosecutor Gavin?" I laughed at that one. And is it just me or is Trucy a creepy good ventriloquist? OH! That's where Trilo Quist's name came from! Just take the 'ven' from 'ventriloquist!' Gosh, I'm slow!

Trucy did a few more tricks. For example, the magic panties (it's not weird, even if boys in junior high sure thought so). I liked it when Trucy borrowed Ema's Luminol and Snackoos and put them in her panties only to miraculously pull them out later. Ema most likely would have thrown her Snackoos at Trucy, had she had her Snackoos.

"I'm going to my room," I said when Trucy packed up her props.

"See you later!" Kay smiled.

Gosh, I never thought about how awesome it would be to have fictional characters for best friends.

//July 20, 2017. My Room, Anime High, 3:12 PM//

I flopped down onto my bed. I still held my Magatama. I still felt so powerful when holding it. But then I remembered something: the creepy chef from Tres Bien in T&T (Jean Armstrong) stole Phoenix's Magatama when it was in his pocket. Creep never got to lay a finger on Maya's since she was wearing it. Maybe I should but the charm on a string and wear it around my neck like the Fey clan does!

I walked for the door to go and buy some string, but then I realized what happened last time I went outside: creepy unstable barriers. I don't even know who that guy was! I think Quinn muttered his name without realizing it. Franken Stein, was it?

So instead of going to buy stuff (for reasons I just mentioned), I pulled out the shoestrings from my tennis shoes and twisted them together to form a necklace. I slid the Magatama on and tied the string.

I felt kind of tired after the whole Wonder Bar fiasco, so I decided to take a nap.

And by nap, I totally don't mean go and play Ace Attorney for hours on end without leaving my room! What gave you that idea?!

A/N

I know that most of the people reading this aren't in every fandom that is included in here, so if you don't recognize a character, I suggest googling them. Chrysalis, Quinn, Katherine, and Meilin are OCs, so don't worry about them.

And the picture is the sentinel and uniform for Chrysalis. Her sentinel is a Fey clan outfit (I recolored it from Pearl because there isn't just a plain outfit) and her uniform is just...a Google picture. The hairstyle is how her hair looks, just imagine it in the color of Pearl's hair.
