Lena's POV

"James?" I ask surprised to see him show up to L-Corp.

"I wanted to know if you would like to go out to dinner with me later." He says bringing his hands together in front of him.

"As a date?" I hesitantly ask.

"I would love for it to be a date Lena." He says.

"If I say yes, will you leave me alone?" I ask raising an eyebrow.

"Yes, but trust me, after this date, you will be begging for more Miss Luthor." He says winking. "See you at 6."

James walks out of my office. What did I just get myself into?

I continued my day as if nothing happened. I didn't bother to put anything specific for a date on because after all, I don't care about it and I'm only doing it so he'll leave me alone.

I decided to drop by Kara's apartment before the date. I don't know why exactly, I just feel the urge to be around her sometimes.

I knock on her door and she opens it. Immediately the smell of burnt food hits my senses. My face scrunches up. Kara has a guilty pout on her face when she realizes I can smell it.

She opens her door all the way letting me in and shuts it behind us. "Honey, what were you trying to make this time?" I ask setting down my purse on her kitchen table.

She whines, "I was trying to make my own potstickers."

My eyes scan all the ingredients laying out. "Well Kara you have the right ingredients so maybe you just weren't mixing them the right way." I say walking around the kitchen table to them. "Let me help."

I know what I'm doing so I just start doing my thing. "Let me at least help you." Kara says walking over to me. "Just tell me what to do."

I know that I should make the dough...not that I don't think Kara could do it, actually I just really don't think she could do it.

"Combine these ingredients all together in a bowl and just mix it thoroughly." I say pointing to the meat, onions, cabbage, garlic and other things she apparently likes in her potstickers.

I begin to make the dough and soon we pop the potstickers in the oven.

Well I did...

"Thank you, Lena." Kara says after I had put them in the oven.

"What are friends for?" I say smiling, though I swear I could see a slight frown on Kara's face.

"How many tries did it take until you gave up?" I ask motion towards the garbage which is where the smell was coming from.

"7" She mumbles looking down.

She's adorable

"Well, next time you decide to cook, call me." I say smiling while I grab her hand squeezing it.

I check my phone to see 3 missed calls from James.

"Shit!" I say out loud, covering my mouth with my hand. "Sorry."

"What's wrong?" Kara asks worried standing up from the kitchen island.

"I had a date with James tonight at 6:00." I say casually.

Kara looks away with a saddened expression. "You were going to go on a date with him? Lena, what the hell is wrong with you?"

"Excuse me?" I say taken back from Kara's tone.

She clenches her jaw then relaxes for a few moments, "He's a immature baby, who doesn't know how to respect women. You deserve someone as amazing as you are, why would you even give him the light of day to be with you?" She says standing in front of me now.

"Kara, I only said yes to him so he would leave me alone. I even specifically asked him that if I would say yes, if he would leave me alone." I say looking up at her as she's slightly taller than me since I'm sitting in the chair.

"And what did he say?" She asks.

"He said that by the end of the night I would be begging for more." I mumble.

She distinctively rolls her eyes and takes my phone off the table. In order to do this she had to bend over me and I could feel her breath against my neck for a split second.

"Kara, what are you doing?" I ask.

"Texting him." She says typing. "I said that something came up but there wouldn't be a makeup date and if he tries to keep getting with you then you would take action."

She sets the phone back down where it was but this time she doesn't back up immediately and she slowly moves her face from near my neck to where it's right in front of my face. My eyes stare right into hers, it's quite overwhelming. Kara has always had these intense eyes for some reason. With just one look, you're a goner.

Sirens fill my hearing and obviously Kara's as well. She makes a face as if she's listening closely for something then says, "I have to go."

She starts heading for the door. "What about the potstickers?" I ask.

"I'll be back in time, promise." She says opening the door. "Don't leave, please." And with that, she shuts the door. It all makes sense.

Go be a hero, Kara
