Kara's POV

"I can't wait to put her in Supergirl outfits! Oh! And make her try potstickers and color with her! And—"

"Okay, slow down Kara, we haven't even adopted her yet." Alex says laughing at my outburst.

Alex and Maggie will be adopting a 4 year old girl named Mila. When Maggie was out doing police things, she saw Mila sitting outside of a building with a note. I don't know exactly what the note said but the girl's mother is an alcoholic who basically said she didn't care who took the child, as long as she didn't have to. Maggie immediately felt a connection to the child and when Alex met her, Mila took a strong liking to her as well.

I haven't met Mila yet but today is the day Alex and Maggie will adopt her. I invited Lena to meet me at Alex's apartment. If I'm going to meet my niece, I want Lena to be there too. I don't know if she sees Mila as her niece but I'm going to introduce her as my girlfriend.

Alex and Maggie are planning to buy a house together for Mila to grow up in but until that happens they're keeping her at Alex's apartment.

I'm so happy for Alex. She has Maggie and is getting a daughter like she always wanted. And now I have a niece, I'm beyond excited.

Alex leaves with Maggie to go adopt Mila and do all the paperwork. I go to my own apartment because I don't want to be there when Mila gets there for the first time. I feel like when she steps foot into the place she's going to be living in, it should be special and just be them three. Alex will let me know when it's time for me to come over and until then I should make myself busy.

Supergirl has had a couple days off. No one wants to kill me anymore which I'm thankful for. I don't know how long that will last but I'll enjoy the time I have for now.

I have nothing to do so I put a movie on and lay down. I ended up taking a nap but woke up when Alex had called. She told me that I'm good to drop by. I text Lena to meet me there and I drive instead of fly. Alex forced me to get a car because flying is risky when I'm Kara. I made it to Alex's safely and not even a couple seconds later, Lena parks next to me. I immediately smile getting out and open the door for her. "Hi baby." I say with a love sick smile on my face. I grab her hands and pull her up wrapping my arms around her waist. "Hello sweetie." She says back.

She kisses me on the lips and shuts her door. "Are you nervous?" She asks referring to Mila.

"A little bit." I say honestly. "I just really want her to like me...she's been through so much and I just want her to know she's cared and loved for around all of us."

Lena smiles and kisses me again. "Stop worrying, Kara. You're literally Supergirl. She is going to love you and you're going to be a great Aunt, I already know it."

I smile and let her words sink in and we finally make our way up to the apartment. Lena knocks on the door for us and Alex opens the door. "She's in there with Maggie." She says hugging us. We walk in and I see a little girl with light brown hair and green eyes. "Mila, there's someone I want you to meet." Alex says softly to the shy girl. She stops playing with a barbie she had and walks over to Alex.

Mila looks between Lena and I then at Alex. "Mila, this is my sister, she's your Aunt Kara." Alex says gesturing to me. "And this is Aunt Kara's girlfriend, Lena."

"Pretty." She says pointing at Lena. Lena leans down so she's level with the little girl and says, "Thank you, sweetheart." The little girl shyly smiles and points at me. "Aunt Kara." I nod and she nods back. I think she's just trying to remember names.

Lena and I sit down on the couch and slowly, Mila starts to warm up to us. Watching Lena interact with Mila is so special. They already have such a strong bond and it's adorable. Lena and I eventually did have to leave but we did stay for a couple hours. When we left Mila was holding on to my foot, not letting go. She didn't want us to go but I promised her that one day she can stay with me if it's okay with her moms. The little girl mumbled, "Lena, will you be there?"

Lena and I shared a glance and Lena smiled brightly at her, "Wouldn't miss it for the world." Mila smiled at that and hugged us goodbye, jumping back into Alex's arms.

When we shut the apartment door behind us, I immediately said, "I officially have the most cutest niece in the universe." Lena grabbed my hand to hold it and said, "And I am dating the most adorable Aunt in the universe."

I smiled but it faltered when we got to our cars. We came in separate cars and now we have to go separate ways. Three hours with this woman is not nearly enough time. "You were so good with her, I had no idea you were good with kids." I know that Ruby amd Lena we're close at one time, but I never got to experience their bond first hand, as much I would have liked.

"I love interacting with kids. My job requires me to be very mature and serious at all times so when I'm with children, I get a sort of nostalgia feeling and my childish side comes out." She says.

I smile, "Can you drive to mine?" I ask.

"Already miss me, Miss Danvers?" She smirks.

I groan, leaning into my car, "I always miss you Miss Luthor." She nods with a smile as she steps forward and kisses me.

We both drive our cars to my apartment and walk up together. When we get inside, Lena unexpectedly pushes me up against the door as it shuts.

The surprising thing is... it wasn't sexual. Lena looked into my eyes and I could see her eyes travel over my entire face. She then buried her face in my neck and wrapped her arms around my back. I smiled and wrapped my arms around her as well and kissed her hair.

"I love doing life with you Kara. One life with you is not enough for me."
