Lena's POV
"Please, Lena, I'll only be gone for a couple hours." Maggie says with Mila attached to her hip.
"Yeah, please Aunt Lena!" Mila says cutely.
Maggie has to go do things for work and I'm the only option because Kara is Supergirl and Alex also works at the DEO. I honestly don't know why they're begging so much, Mila and I always have fun together, I'd put aside work for her any day.
"We're gonna have lots of fun, honey." I say to Mila. She smiles brightly, jumping out of her mother's arms and instead jumping to mine.
Mila has been adjusting into the family quite well I would say. Alex and Maggie are still searching for the perfect house but Mila loves all of us thankfully. She especially loves game nights at Kara's house. It's only been a few weeks since they adopted her but everything feels so natural already.
She actually just started calling me Aunt Lena this past week. Of course, I wasn't expecting her to call me that but I love this little girl to pieces and I'm glad she feels comfortable enough around to call me that.
Maggie tells us goodbye and leaves my office. "When's the last time you ate?" I ask as I straighten everything on my desk since I won't be working unless she takes a nap.
"Momma made breakfast before she left and mommy gave me fruit snacks earlier." She says sitting on the couch in my office.
Mila calls Alex "momma" and Maggie "mommy". I think it's adorable but when she's older she'll probably grow out of it.
"Are you hungry?" I ask smirking, walking over to her. She happily nods with a big smile and I hold her on my hip walking out of my office. "What are you in the mood for?" I ask as I buckle her in the car seat and get in the drivers seat.
"Not kale!" she yells and I can tell by her voice she's scrunching her face.
"You are just like your Aunt Kara." I mumble to myself. "How about we go to Burger King and then you can play in the playground they have?"
"Yes! Can I get chicken nuggets?" She asks.
"You can get whatever you like, darling." I say.
I look through the rear view mirror and she's smiling, looking out the window. When we get there, we eat at a booth that could easily fit 8 people. Mila insisted we sit there.
When we're finished, she runs to the inside play ground they have. She climbs to the top and makes faces at me. I make sure to take pictures to show her moms later.
Finally we're done and instead of taking her back to my office, I text Kara to ask if I can bring her to her apartment. She's at CatCo right now, but said she'll try to get out early.
When we get up to Kara's, I put the kids channel on and cover Mila up with a blanket. I do Kara's dishes until Mila makes me watch her cartoons with her. I sit on the end of the couch and Mila cuddled up to me. Hopefully she'll take a nap soon. The playground must have worn her out.
I try to understand the cartoon at least a little bit, but Kara definitely enjoys them more than me. Thankfully, about a hour later, Mila is asleep with her head resting in my lap.
Kara❤️
Don't worry about getting out early, Mila finally fell asleep. But if you do happen to get out early, I miss you
I have to finish up this report then I'll be home, I love you.
Mila is going to be so surprised when she wakes up. She's been wanting to stay the night here but Alex and Maggie haven't let her yet. Alex is very very protective over Mila and while I think that is a very good attribute to have as a mother, I also don't think it would be a bad idea for Mila to stay here one night. Her Aunt is literally Supergirl, not that she knows that but the point is she would be the safest she could possibly be.
Thirty minutes later, just like Kara said, I hear the door open quietly and see Kara coming in. She quietly locks the door and hangs her purse, then walks over to me with a grin. "Hi, baby." She says leaning down to kiss me. She then pressed a light kiss to Mila's forehead as well.
"As much as I would kill to hug you right now, I really don't want to wake her up." I say as she walks to the kitchen.
"Lena, you did not have to do my dishes." She says turning to face me. "Do you want some iced tea?"
"Sure." I say, watching her pour us each a glass. She walks over, handing me a glass and sitting on the other side of the couch.
"Oooh! Wonder Pets! She says kind of loudly. I shush her and she mumbles, "Sorry, I used to watch this show all the time as a kid with Alex."
After almost an hour of trying to stay up watching this show with Kara, Mila stirs awake. "Aunt Kara!" She says jumping into Kara's arms.
"Well, hello my little monkey!" Kara says ticking her, abrupting giggles from Mila.
I get a text from Alex saying she's on her way to pick up Mila. "Honey, Alex is on her way to come get you." I say standing up.
Kara stands up with Mila in her arms, "We better get your shoes and jacket on." She says sitting her down on a chair and grabbing her shoes. Kara puts her shoes on and Mila pulls her jacket on.
A couple minutes later Alex walks in. When Mila gives her mom a hug, I take the opportunity to greet my girlfriend properly. I wrap my arms around her, giving her a kiss that lasted slightly longer than our previous one from earlier.
"So where did you guys go today?" Alex asks, holding Mila's hand.
"Well, we ate at Burger King and then after she played in their inside playground."
"Lena, why would you bring her there? I've never brought her there before and I'm her mother." Alex says, slightly raising her voice.
"What? What do you mean Alex?" I say absolutely confused.
"I want everything she does or experiences to be with me. I should be there for the first time she goes to a playground inside a Burger King..."
"I think you're being a little overdramatic, don't you think?" Kara asks butting in.
"Alex, I'm sorry. I-I didn't think it would be a big deal." I say sighing.
Alex nods but still looks pissed. Mila gives us a hug before they walk out the door. "Well that is not how I pictured this evening going." I say once the door shuts.
"I'm not exactly sure why she reacted that way." Kara says standing in front of the door. "She'll come around though. Alex has just never had a daughter before, I think she may be a little jealous."
I nod and she brings me into her arms rubbing my back. "I missed you while I was at work." She says with her face pressed into the curve of my neck.
I sigh into her shoulder and then look up at her, "I missed you."
Kara smiles and kisses me, tracing my jaw.
I pull away and kiss her cheek, "We really need to convince Alex to let us keep Mila a night."
"I know. I'll talk to her tomorrow about keeping her after game night." She says and I nod. Kara starts to walk towards the bathroom, slowly pulling her dress above her head. My eyes burn into her uncovered skin. "You coming?" Kara says innocently over her shoulder.
I am definitely dating a girl with a god complex.
