Grasping the IV stand to steady himself, Donatello pulled back the sheet covering his legs as he forced himself up.
Splinter rushed over to his son, arms out as if awaiting a catch. "Woah, woah, woah!" he shouted. "Lay back down!" The rat demanded, his ears back, whiskers twitching slightly. "No--" Donnie began, moving his legs off the side of the bed. "He needs help- He's going to get himself hurt-"
Splinter glared, arms crossed. "And so are you! Be reasonable, Purple. I can't watch the both of you if you are doing this-"
"All the more reason to help me-!" Don snapped back. "It will make your job much easier if we are in one area!" He tried to reason. "He needs us" Donnie glared at his dad, only to be pulled away by a distressed sound.
Whiiineee
The two looked over. "Leo-" "Blue..."
Splinter sighed, his mind flashing back to when the two turtles would cuddle all the time. It was a long while ago, but it was the only way Leo would relax back then. Why not give it a try now? "Fine. Come on"
Donnie stood with Splinter's help, and limped over to his twin's bed. His body shook and wobbled as he set a gentle hand on Leo's plastron. "Shh, We're here, Nardo- It's okay-" The softshell attempted to coax Leo into relaxing.
"Dee?" Leo slowly opened his eyes, voice strained as he spoke. "Yeah.. I'm here. It's okay"
"Careful-" Splinter warned, as he began to tuck the two in. "Try not to jostle each other."
Leo wasn't fully awake, as he was still on some strong medication, so he just slumped his head against Donatello's shoulder, almost instantly falling back asleep.
"Alright. Back to sleep. Both of you."
