Anyways, on with the story!

------------------------------

Carol sighed as she finished up in the med bay. She pulled off the disposable latex gloves, tossing them into a nearby bin, before walking out.

She was instantly greeted by six worried and anxious faces. "Ah-" She stopped in her tracks, the metal doors closing automatically behind her.

"Alright-" The woman sighed and softly clapped her hands together. "Everyone, take a breath. Then I'll give you all the update."

Simultaneously, everyone did as they were told. Though no ones worry left.

"Okay... It seems that Leo has gotten an infection." Carol began.

"I went ahead and changed the bandages and got everything cleaned up, but he's not very responsive... I think this was the tipping point for his body, and with the medications he's dropped into a coma-"

April gasped and put her hands over her mouth.

"I know this is scary..." Carol sighed softly. "But the good news is that as far as comas go, it's not severe."

Casey perked up, picking at his hands. "Is... Is he going to wake up?" He questioned, his voice quiet.

Carol nodded. "I believe so. I want to get him started on some antibiotics, and pull the medications that have any sedative effects. That'll give him his best shot."

"Yes ma'am. I'll get on that right away. Thank you, Dr. O'Neil..." Casey muttered quietly as he walked past the woman, into the medbay, the automatic doors shutting behind him.

"Oh- Okay. I'll be in shortly-" Carol looked at the closed doors for a short moment, before turning the the mutants and her daughter.

"Who is he? I don't know him but he-... He seems as if he knows me..?"

"It's... A little complicated.."

"He's family though!"

"It's a long, scientifically improbable story."

"Well... I'm not going anywhere."

Sigh.

"You might want to sit down for this, then.."
