"Y/n!" Scarlett yells at me from the kitchen while I sit out in her backyard by myself. I turn myself around to see her waving at me from the kitchen window with a smile on her face.

I remember when I first met Scarlett. It was about a year ago.

Flashback:

"This party sucks." I grumble to myself looking around the room of people I didn't know.

"Lighten up Y/n!" My friend Talia hands me another red solo cup full of beer smiling widely at me.

"I didn't want to come to this stupid party anyways, you forced me to come with you." I bring the cup up to my lips and start drinking as she scoffs.

"I just wanted you to have fun." She gives me the puppy dog eyes inching closer to me.

"I just... Need some air. I'll be back." I turn away and quickly walk out the front door into the yard where no one was at.

I sat down with a sigh on the curb and take another drink on my beer. A few minutes pass and I hear footsteps coming towards me. I thought it was Talia so I said, "Talia just leave me alone. I told you I'd be right back."

"I don't know who this Talia is, but you look like you could use some company." A womans voice comes from behind me.

I turn around to see beautiful woman with long blonde hair standing behind me kind of in the dark. "Oh sorry, I thought you were my friend."

"No worries. Mind if I sit?" She asks pointing at the spot next to me.

"Sure, go ahead." I half smile as she walks up next to me. Now that she's in the light I realize who she is. My jaw drops as she sits next to me and smiles.

"By that look, I'm going to assume you recognize me." She raises an eyebrow at me and laughs as I silently nod at me. "I'll introduce myself anyway. I'm Scarlett"

"I.. I'm Y/n" I stutter making her chuckle a bit.

"It's nice to meet you Y/n. Now why are you out here all alone?" Scarlett queries looking from me to the house behind us.

"My friend dragged me here. I needed a break from the party so I came out here where it's not so loud." I shrug looking at the red cup in my hand.

"It does seem quite chaotic in there." She hums looking back at me.

"Wait... Were you in there? At the party?" I query, a little confused on where she came from.

"Oh no no, I live not too far from here, so I was taking a walk. I saw you out here alone, so I thought I'd stop and say hi." She smiles softly at me. So, to my surprise she sat outside with me and we talked for a while until she had to head back home.

Present:

Ever since then we have been friends, we've even gotten really close after the first few months.

"Come here! Why are you out there alone?" She queries, still yelling at me from the window and waving me to come meet her inside.

I chuckle, getting up from where I sat and walk into the house. "I told you, it's nice outside today." I smile meeting her in the kitchen.

"You'll catch a cold you know" She rolls her eyes at me making me laugh.

"It's not that cold out there. So why'd you call me in?" I query hoisting myself up on her counter.
