AARON

I STOOD THERE AGAINST the lining of the cage, quivering. They took John. And if John didn't work, they would take patrick. I swallowed my sobs, from just thinking of that, terrifying image. "What are they gonna do to him?" Pat asked in a hiccup. I stayed silent. "Aaron?" He asked raising his voice a little, "Aaron, tell me!"
I sat there gripping the bars, staring into nothingness, "tell me!" He shouted again,
"Just shut up!" I snapped, instantly catching myself, "no, Patrick listen-" I was cut off,
"Don't." He said, turning over in his cage. Boy was he sensitive. But then again, our life is screwed. My mind was solely focused on:
1. John and how he's gonna turn out.
2. Where was snow and was she okay?
3. The picture of that girl with wings that wasn't snow.

I didn't really have a lot of space to care for pat's feelings right now. I was about to scream out of pain and rage, but something caught my attention. There dozens of guards and scientists running back and forth in this dark empty hall. The guards were shouting orders and the scientists were just shouting, telling everyone to pack up. A pair of giant, hairy, hands gripped my cage and I began to rock around in it. A loud, chuckle came from behind me, as I quickly turned around. I was then face to face with an enormous, hairy, wolf-like, figure, with a terrifying smirk coming across it. "Sorry, birdie. Doctors orders." The figure chortled, as Pat and I were tossed into the back of a truck. Any sense of freedom would be idiotic to have.

SNOW

"TODAY." I SAID, MY voice firm. I quickly turned on my heels, and took off, seeing four bird kids taking off after me. Max standing down below, arms crossed over her chest. "Don't worry," Iggy said,
"She's always stubborn." I looked past him and locked eyes with Dylan again. A few moments later, max finally caught up with us,
Rolling her eyes,
"Yo," max began, "have you ever heard of something called the doomsday group?" I froze, forgetting how to fly for a second,
"H-how do you know them?" I hadn't heard that name in forever,
"They blew up an entire stadium, and crushed my-" she looked away, staring into the sky,
"Ang- gazzys sister, was crushed by debris-" he was cut off,
"Can it Dylan!" Max shouted. "We're almost there." I darted at her,
"We just left-" I began,
"Why do you think I had us land there?" Max said irritated. In the distance I noticed a giant complex, that stood out in the desert. "There it is." She said, sighing heavily. We landed on the roof, crouching and almost instantly, sirens started ringing.
"Damnit!" Gazzy said, as max gave him a look, "sorry, it's just I didn't wanna have to use this, this early." He pulled something out of his pocket, "Duck!" He shouted, as we all dove to the side, when the gasman threw a bomb down. There was a loud boom, And the whole thing gave way, crumbling and crushing floors beneath it.
"There's something wrong with all of you." I said, but noticed a boy in a cage, on his stomach at the very first floor. I jumped down as the flock yelled at me. I tumbled due to the rough landing, and bruised my knee, but none of that mattered as much as this.
"Patrick?" I said, his body turned over. He whimpered. I burst the cage open, and noticed he was crying.
"They took Aaron and John!" He began crying once more. I then began to think to myself. Had I been too late?
