AARON
WE ALL TOGETHER, COMBINED 'flocks'. We all had one goal. Prepare.
We were flying for hours and hours in silence.
"Where are we going to go?" Patrick started.
"We're heading to my mom's house." Max announced.
"Which is..." I waited for her to complete my sentence.
"Arizona." I groaned and banked my right wing to meet up with John.
"What's up?" I started.
"Nothing, I just don't know what we're going to do next." He looked down in sorrow. I put my hand on his shoulder and gasped, everything going blank. Everything was dark. I saw John, he was on a hospital bed, like the one at the facility. They prepared scalpels, IPs, needles, and gloves. They put the scalpel to John's eye, as he screamed. I winced at watching him go through pain. They continued, completely ignoring the screams of agony. They injected needles of sorts and stabbed his eye carelessly. I put my hands to my head and moaned. The procedure went on for hours, with me being forced to watch. I began to scream and tried to prevent my eyes from the bloody torture.
"Stop! Stop it!" I shouted but couldn't even hear myself. Just the screams and beeping of the experiment. Water clouded my vision and I tried breathing but I wasn't able to. The whole scene disappeared into a grayish, swirl. A rock pressed against my leg and I was able to see again. It all came back into color and I saw, I was completely buried underwater. I gasped, inhaling a bunch of water into my lungs. I coughed it back out and lost all my oxygen. When I looked up, I saw foggy blue for miles. So this is how it was going to end. Me having a vision of John being experimented, and me falling into the deep blue. I whipped out my wings but my breath left my mouth. I struggled to push them down to swim, but instead lost all the air that was forced to flow with the water in my lungs. I pushed further and further, but the distance seemed the same.
"Hard work for nothing." I thought about the saying. Or had I really thought it? "Come on, get up!" A garbled voice shouted, "Snow may hate you, but she'll hate me more if I let you die!" I opened my eyes and saw Max pulling me out. I was finally pulled out of the water and I wasn't able to breathe in the air from clogged lungs. Max whipped her hair back and leaned down towards my face. She pressed he lips on mine and breathed her air into mine. After a while, she finally backed away and waited. I coughed a bunch of water onto myself, and sat up gasping.
"Max?" I said in a breath. She backed away and went back into the air hovering above me. Snow picked me up to my feet, and smiled.
"Looks like I got some competition." She chuckled and took off with the rest. I went along with them, catching back up to Snow and the rest.
"I already know, who won." I said and smiled.
To Max's house we go.
