When Derek finds a girl with a duffle bag on his doorstep with glowing eyes, he realized that the news of him becoming an alpha really was spreading faster then he could keep up with it. It was Victoria Hale-Douglas, his niece and Laura's daughter, that he hadn't seen since he had left New York.
She was unwilling to sit on the sidelines anymore, which was understandable considering who she was. But it was also unfortunate, considering that the town of Beacon Hills was only going downhill from where it had been previously.
The 13 year old might be a supernatural and she might have the Hale name, but there are supernatural creatures that aren't werewolves. Her father wasn't a werewolf and although she looks like her mother, she isn't a werewolf.
