Waking up that next day wasn’t a problem, seeing as you didn’t even get a wink in. Too stunned, flustered, and confused to actually get an ounce in after your little moment with your master in the gardens the night before.
Prettiest rose in the bunch?
You didn’t understand what he meant by that (or the fact your heart did somersaults while it was said), and it left you in a numb state. All the way to getting out of bed and to taking a bath, to getting dressed and having breakfast prepared for the King of Curses.
“Are you okay, Y/n?” Uraume asked, their hand snaking around your wrist and tugging your hand towards them.
“You’ve been out of it since we said hello; are you sick? Do you need the day off?”
“No, I’m sorry.” You said, blinking a few times and sighing. “Just lost in thought.”
Taking deep breaths, you walked over to the pot and stirred the broth that was cooking inside. As you finished preparing that days’ supper, Uraume’s concern didn’t leave them as they watched over you the rest of the day; cleaning the rooms by your side before you headed towards the throne room.
“I’ll be finished with the throne in a short while,” You announced, bowing to Uraume as you left the bathrooms with a rag, duster, and some soapy water.
Making your way to the throne room, you looked up and spotted Sukuna in his favorite seat, looking down on you as you dropped your things and your face flushed red. His cheek was pressed against his knuckles, the veins on the back of his hand flexing slightly as he turned his attention from the main door to you.
The echoing sound of the bucket rolling in circles catching his concern before spotting you next to it and smiling.
“Making a mess are you?” He questioned, a soft grin playing his pink lips as he sat up.
“N-No, sir!” You shouted, covering your mouth and looking at the spilled water and cleaning items. “I’ll get this cleaned right away, I’m so sorry-!!”
Watching your clumsy actions for the next moments in utter amusement and smiling broadly, finding your little mess ups adorable. Eventually, he stood from his throne of bones and took a few steps towards your crouched form. You didn’t notice his presence getting closer until you saw the curse’s black socks.
“Oh, I’m sorry,” You said, picking up the rag and soaking up the spilled water.
“You apologize too much, stop it.”
Sukuna watched your actions for another moment before returning to his seat and waiting for you to climb the stairs up to him. Watching your flustered little face get closer and closer to him, a grin that was never ending adorned his handsome features.
“Cleaning the throne today?” He asked as you crouched next to the bony seat, tilting his gaze down towards you.
You gave him a small nod, intent on cleaning the small skulls and random femurs that were embedded into the seat’s legs as Sukuna talked to himself.
“I was thinking of going to the hot springs later on today, if you didn’t mind joining me?” Sukuna’s voice suddenly boomed, as if he wasn’t just speaking for the past few minutes.
Springs? Sukuna? TOGETHER? Was that even ok?
For a master and servant to be in such a vulnerable state at the same time, and in the same place? And in his special place? Those springs were reserved for Sukuna’s use only; only he was allowed to use them since he built them himself years ago.
