Driftmark
Jacaerys stood at the railing of his ship, his mind a bit occupied with what has happened in King's Landing. His eyes glanced at Myrcella who sat near the opposite railing, watching the waves in peace and quiet. She was a bit emotional in the beginning but calmed down after the morning had passed. Although, it seems to help to know that Driftmark is much closer to King's Landing than Sunspear. It still wasn't close enough for the former Queen though. Not that Jacaerys cares, he really dislikes Cersei.
"Lord Jacaerys, a word if I may?" Cersei asked as she approached Jacaerys who stood watching Blackwater Bay. The sound of that voice was like hearing the most irritating singer sing the song you hate the most. He doesn't know how she does it. How could one person be disliked so much?
"I am watching Blackwater Bay. If you wish to say something, say it, Lady Cersei. I care not if you do and I doubt you'll leave me alone."
"It's unwise to speak to me that way, my Lord. You do know who I am?"
"I just said your name. If you think being a Lannister gives you more rights then you are either a fool, or you do not know how the world works. To keep it simple so you understand; Lord Tywin needs me. Do you know why? Ah, by your face I say no. Well, I have ships he needs. I have the gold he needs. I have the men he needs. Do not lecture me, Lady Cersei. Now tell me, what do you want?"
He glanced at the former Queen. Her face was almost not able to hide her fury. It was clear he struck several nerves with her. Somehow it gave him pleasure. It was also not hard to imagine she is here because of Myrcella. They leave tomorrow after all.
"The marriage of our children. It seems Myrcella is quite eager to meet your son. She spoke highly of you. Said you were kind and gentle. Was that an act?"
Jacaerys laughed a bit. Amusement is etched on his face as he turns to the golden-haired woman. Cersei was twitching with irritation and anger. Clearly, she has forgotten what it felt like to be looked down upon. It makes it even more of a joy to Jacaerys.
"No. You have brought a good girl into the world, Lady Cersei. The only thing is, you are not deserving of my kind and gentle nature. I assure you, Myrcella will be happy. Happier compared to the days in... your toxic presence. We have seen how that turned out with our former King Joffrey. Resulting in quite a few devastating wars. My Lady, I wish you turn away from your awful spiteful nature. As hopeless as that may be. It may save your life one day. If anyone cared for it, that is. Only Ser Jamie I assume. Nevertheless, I am tired of talking with you. Goodbye, my Lady."
Jacaerys turned around and walked away, his heavy guard following him. His last sight of Cersei was her face in dark fury, but he cared not. There is literally nothing she could do. The match has been made. The Hand of the King and the King himself gave their approval. It was done.
"My Lord?" Myrcella asked, bringing Jacaerys out his thoughts. He turns his gaze to the girl that suddenly stood next to him.
"Yes, what is it, Princess? Anything you need? And remember Jacaerys, please. You're my guest and potential daughter-in-law. No need for formalities between us."
"Oh, no. You have made this trip quite pleasant. Thank you. I am wondering about something. My mother warned me about you. Even the day we left, she asked me to promise to keep safe and be weary of you. Why? I don't know why she would say such a thing."
"Ah. We had quite an unpleasant conversation. She thinks I will be a bad person for you. Like a jailor that holds you on my island as a prisoner. You see, Lady Cersei is protective and wishes you the best, I am sure of that. Only, that means you must stay at her side forever. Not going anywhere but staying with her. In essence, controlling your life. That's why she said what she said."
