Meereen

It was not often a city rejoiced at being conquered by a foreign army. This time, however, Meereen was cheering and celebrating after a night of turmoil. The city was put in order before the Targaryens entered the city. Both alternate between walking and riding on their horses. Each of them waved a smiled at the freed slaves, sometimes even speaking and shaking hands. All the while being protected by the three fierce knights that watched with the eyes of a hawk.

Meereen was many things. Beautiful in the sun as colours shined in all directions due to the colourful bricks. Ancient history was seen by several monuments and large buildings still standing from the Ancient Ghiscari Empire. Of course, there were the large and well-decorated pyramids of the rich nobles. The Great Masters of Meereen reside in them.

Jaehaerys and Daenerys were not blind to the splendour of the ancient city of Meereen. They saw the buildings, some damaged by the siege while others less touched by the battle. Still, their focus now lay on the people. Former slaves and those that were never slaves, to begin with. By the time their entourage made it to an overlook that gave way to an open field. It was a field filled with former slaves that cheered and call them Fhysah and Mysha.

It was not only slaves that filled the space, there were the former slavers too. The masters that owned those that have been freed. All they received were cold stares from the Targaryens. At times there were a few that weren't showing any regrets or shame about any former actions.

"My love, justice must be served. You promised those that were freed," Daenerys says as they watch from above. Her hands were stroking her belly absentmindedly as she has done ever since she knew.

"I know what I promised, Dany. Those that ordered it will know what it felt, but we must know which ones," Jaehaerys says with a firm and strict voice. A sigh leaves Dany as she nods, he's right about that. It wouldn't be justice if those that did nothing were punished as well.

"Grey Worm, put all the leaders of the city in cells and interrogate them to see who was responsible. I want to know who killed the children," Jaehaerys orders as he looked at the commander. He nods and went with some Unsullied to one specific group of masters. They were grouped together and guarded by Unsullied. Among all the masters, they actually looked terrified and worried about what would become of them.

"Your Grace..." Barristan says from behind. Jaehaerys looked over the crowd once more and gave them all a smile and wave as to greet them. He soon turns and faced the Old Knight.

"What is it, Ser?"

"Daario said his riders will return in some days' time. I suggest we make the palace ready for our needs. It is best to have a base to operate from."

"Very well," Jaehaerys says with a soft sigh.

Every time they took one of the three great Slaver's cities it was easier than he expected. Too easy at times, but now they will be faced with a setback, he is sure of it. There is no doubt in his mind that there will be news that he won't like.

The group made their way through the streets. It slowly became more and more well-maintained and pretty to look at. Their place for the coming time will be in the former palace of the Great Masters. It was easy to spot as they were informed it was the largest structure in the whole city. Jorah said it was even bigger than the Wall, and the Wall was apparently 700 feet long. As much as a wonder this structure is, it must contain the blood of the slaves that made it. Nothing here was built without the blood, sweat, and tears of the slaves.

As usual, they put the palace back in order. There were small signs of looting. A few dead former slaves were on the bottom floors, but not too many. It became clear that this pyramid was a stronghold not easily taken. The slaves soon found out and were kept away from the looks of it.
