Meereen

Jaehaerys could not imagine how Westeros would react to their decision. Here, in the lands east of Westeros, none would react negatively. Most wouldn't even think twice about it, most likely. In some parts, more eastwards, there is talk of men having more than five wives. But he is not going east, nor did he plan to stay here in Slaver's Bay or the Free Cities. Jaehaerys aims to take back his family's throne, a land where people frown on the practice of taking more than one wife.

"It will not matter," he thought. Who would dare raise the issue when they are coming with dragons? None said anything to Aegon the Conqueror. If they did, they probably did not say it for long in one way or another. His ancestor was fair and righteous but stern and decisive as well.

"Jaeh," Dany said softly. "They've come with the new bed."

Another thing that will be weird. He agreed as Dany convinced him as easily as ever. Somehow, his sweet sister-wife has powers over him that he could not fight against. The three will share a bed after they have been wed, that is. Dany was different when they first shared a bed. In all honesty, Jaehaerys had given up on ever returning to Westeros. How could he not?

Viserys always failed in his schemes and plots so many times. They were hungry more days than he could count. Jaehaerys almost gave the idea of becoming a simple worker and peasant a chance. It would earn coin and eventually a place to live. No one would know he and Dany would be related. They would have lived in peace, a simple life. That changed, and he has no regrets. He believes in his goal and to return to his home in Westeros.

"How fairs the preparations?" He asked.

"Missandei said they'll be ready tomorrow. It will do the city well to celebrate a wedding too. Our advisors said as much. We have won the war. The slavers have been defeated and humiliated," Daenerys continued, letting her arms wrap around Jaehaerys' shoulders. "After tomorrow, I can finally call you husband, under the eyes of men and Gods, we will be married."

"Yes, and Jeyne as well," Jaehaerys said as he peered over the city again. He could see the celebrations have started early. Despite the cleaning of the city taking a week at most, the damage is still visible here and there, but the people are ready to forget their troubles.

"You are not willing then?"

"No, I gave my word, Dany, and I admit, she is a fair woman. Jeyne has shown to be gentle and kind when it comes to us," Jaehaerys said, letting his hands rest on the arms of Daenerys, his finger stroking the soft pale skin. "It is just not something I ever imagined in my future. Our lives have become not what we imagined when walking through the streets. I remembered the time I contemplated living a simple life."

"You told me once long ago. It was a week after you and I shared a bed," Dany says with a smile, her head resting on his shoulder. Jaehaerys could feel the sigh as she thinks back to that day. "I remember you telling me your plan. You would work as a sellsword, or someone who would work as a doorman in an establishment within Volantis."

"Yes, a young man's plan," Jaehaerys says with an airy chuckle. "Even when Viserys died, and I took the dream in my hands, I never thought this day would come. But it has, and, Dany, I will keep making you happy. Jeyne will be happy as well. I have sworn to you and now to Jeyne, I will do what I can to make you happy. Pain is in our past, perhaps in our future too, but I will make sure I can fill it with happiness."

"You're a great man, Jaehaerys. I am lucky a woman to have received your love and devotion," Daenerys said. "I like Jeyne, truly, I think she will be well-suited for us both. Besides, it will make the night activities more adventurous. Let alone that we can find solace during the time we carry your children," she continued while teasing him. She must have felt his cheeks heating up.
