Yunkai

Jaehaerys can appreciate a fight. It is why he went out to the common folk. To fight in 'illegal', more like unofficial, fighting clubs. It never resulted in more than a shallow cut, bruises, or an occasional black eye. Perhaps the only downside he experienced was the disapproving look of Daenerys. It worried her often, especially after he shared the bed with her. Still, it gave him a fitter body, more muscles, and better fighting instincts. What he doesn't like much are all-out battles.

He isn't afraid to fight, but he is afraid to make mistakes and cause unnecessary deaths. Each decision could result in many deaths. If he doesn't take the proper course, it could be all over. Therefore he tries to think every decision through and at least get the opinion of the war veterans. Barristan and Baelor have been the most used.

Barristan has fought in multiple wars. Baelor too fought in wars. Both of them were high enough in their rank to be entrusted with tactics and decision-making. It helps him in being more confident in his choices. Even if he still feels the weight of them and hopes that they were the right ones. This brings us to the moment where Jaehaerys is still awake in the night, overlooking the map of Yunkai.

Their defences are strong. An open battle would be most beneficial for them, they can deal with those types of encounters easily. All one needs is a good and advantageous terrain and good formations. Each of those can be easily decided. But taking the city by force is a difficult one. They could do it if they reach the slaves. Convince them to revolt against the masters. But getting to them is the most difficult part. More thorough scouting of the city is in order.

"Love, shouldn't you rest?" Daenerys says from their bed as she watches him ponder, "We have done all we can for today. It is better to look at the situation with a fresh and clear mind."

Jaehaerys sighs as he nods softly. She is right. What more can he do in the dead of night? Tomorrow they could decide. And sleeping with Daenerys is always a good thing to give the mind some rest.

"You're right. We will-" he starts to say before sounds of a struggle were heard briefly outside the tent. It made him jump to his sword and take it out. Daenerys was also up in a second, but only to get behind Jaehaerys and reach for a dagger, to feel at least somewhat useful.

"Baelor?" Jaehaerys calls out. He stood guard at their entrance. And he will not fall to any of the Second Sons, even the captains. Jaehaerys could not believe him being defeated. Let alone him and Barristan together.

"Your Grace, it is under control. We have an assassin, more specifically, Daario Naharis."

The Targaryens shared a glance as they put away their weapons. Daario was sent to kill them. Baelor war right about the protection. Although, Daario is quite deadly if he managed to get through the entire camp. Both were soon out of their tent and saw Daario being held by Barristan and Baelor.

"Good evening, Your Grace. These two are quite stubborn. Especially this one," Daario says as he was on his knees with two blades kept near him. His head gestures to Baelor.

"Come to kill us so soon? Ser Jorah was right. Any last words before you meet your Gods, Daario Naharis?" Jaehaerys says as he stood in front of him, his stoic and hard face looking down.

"That I do not wish to die. And that I have come to serve and not kill you," he says with a small smile.

Daenerys soon wound her arm around Jaehaerys as she gazed and inspects him. Her eyes looked for anything that may spell a lie or something nefarious. Jaehaerys looked a bit surprised at the words as he raised an eyebrow.

"Strange last words, Daario. Even if what you say is true, why would I ever trust you? And what value do you have? You do not have control over the mercenaries, no gold, no sword I can trust."
