Meereen could feel it.
The streets felt tense, citizens became more alert, and the city brimmed with war preparations. Daenerys was not used to making the decisions alone, but she was not one to do nothing. Even now her actions would be swift and decisive.
Daario was ordered to send in his men to uncover any possible conspirators, or allies of the slavers. The former masters with significant influence were put under watch from the shadows. This task fell to Missandei whose knowledge of them would keep them from out playing. Her time under Kraznys was very enlightening about how they operate.
The queen did adjust her decision about who would rule in their stead. She first chose Barristan and Baelor, but Daenerys rather wants to keep a woman's touch on the reigns. So, Elaena and Baelor were chosen instead. It would probably be only for a few days, but important days nonetheless.
As Daenerys left the council chamber leaving Elaena and Baelor to settle into their role, she went toward the dragons at the catacombs. There was nothing more she could do aside from destroying the coming fleet. Her mind was nagging her about how strange it was. They come after them while they have dragons. It is not a secret that they have the fierce beasts. There must be something they have that will work against them.
It is a risk they need to take. But one thing Daenerys knows. One thing every Targaryen knows. A truth. A simple and straightforward truth.
Fire and Blood.
There is nothing that will be standing in their way. Daenerys will burn them away like snow under the sun. No one will make her people or family slaves let alone kill them. They will taste fire and blood before they could enact their dark plans.
Daenerys left the palace behind her, each of her feet keeping a steady pace toward her dragons. Around a battalion of Unsullied escorted her. After the attempted assassination of Jaehaerys, she and Jeyne were escorted by at least three hundred men. Forward men to clear the streets, the middle section stationed around them, and a latter group to prevent any people from coming from behind them.
It was when the sounds of a dragon came. Growls and restless sounds of claws and tails scraping the stones of the floor. Jeyne came into view and soon they would fly to battle.
To victory that Daenerys knew would come.
Driftmark
Many wouldn't be surprised. It was to be expected if you ask Jacaerys. After they had the Lannister join them for dinner it was easy to notice the glowing expressions on the girls. Both were attracted to each other. While it still felt they were unsure of a lot of things, Jacaerys more than once saw them in secluded sections of the gardens. Giggling, laughing, and even they thought no one was watching, a chaste kiss.
They were certainly smitten. And whatever they will decide in the coming months, Jacaerys is more than willing to hear them out. The succession should be secured enough by Maelys and Myrcella. It would not take long for the golden girl to be pregnant. Perhaps even Elaena will get a child, but her age would limit her chances.
Today was a day where Jacaerys let everything seep in. His children found happiness on their own. The castle of Dragonstone was secured and fortified. Even the island Driftmark was prepared for any kind of danger. As he sat on the balcony of his room, he could not think it had gone any better. He is only curious to see what Cersei would do.
The woman is too impulsive and emotional, unlike her father. If someone would go after them, it is her without a doubt. And she had hardly the time with so many enemies aside from the Tyrells and a new political figure from the Faith of the Seven. Jacaerys was unsure as to who he was, but he assumed it would be a problem solely for Cersei.
