Fifteen: Sen breaks some rules and Percy breaks some Furies

"Here." Silena said as she brought a small backpack with rhinestones all over it. "I got you a change of clothes for when you're all better."

Sen smiled weakly and nodded as Silena sat in the chair next to her. Silena was super pretty, as anyone could see, with dark, curly hair and eyes that changed colors every time she blinked. She had a longer nose that curved out, and perfect teeth. Her skin was milky and smooth, and she was a bit rounder, the only giveaway to the fact that she was simply a child.

"Thanks, Silena." Sen smiled.

"Are you feeling okay?" Silena asked as she started adjusting some of the golden bracelets that decorated her arms. She was one of the few children of Aphrodite that didn't always give Sen weird looks.

Sen nodded. "Yes. I'll be okay. Thanks for visiting me, by the way."

"Of course!" Silena smiled. "I thought about bringing you a slice of pie, but William Yew thought that might upset your stomach."

"Oh, but my stomach is feeling better now."

"Wonderful!" Silena slipped the slice out of the backpack. "Because I brought it anyway."

Sen laughed as she sat up in her bed and accepted the pie and fork Silena gave her. As she placed a bite in her mouth, Silena's smile dropped and she furtively looked around.

Sen paused. "Silena? W-"

Silena pressed a finger to her lips. She opened up the backpack, and Sen froze. There was a change of clothes, of course; a camp shirt, a light blue sweater, olive-colored shorts, and half-calf socks. Silena moved the clothes a bit to show a pair of busted-up pink converse, a small ziploc of ambrosia, and a tiny canteen that Sen already knew was full of nectar. Next to it all was ten drachmas, and thirty dollars in mortal money.

Sen froze as Silena zipped up the bag.

"Do you like the pie?" She asked, holding up the bag carefully.

Sen stared at her. Silena's mind was easy to peek into; I know you need to go.

Sen nodded. "Yes. What kind is it? It's got chocolate, but what fruit?"

"Blueberries." Ask to go to the bathroom on your next checkup. Say you want to change.

"Oh. It's pretty good." Sen nodded with a smile. "Thanks, Silena."

They're going to the bus terminal in Manhattan. You have to be fast. There's a pegasus in the stables named Gustave. He'll take you.

"Where did you get your bracelets? Those are super pretty." Sen nodded along as she ate her pie.

"Oh! They were a gift from my dad for Christmas."

"Thanks for the pie, Silena." Sen repeated, her cheeks warm. "I appreciate it a lot."

Silena nodded. "Of course, Sen." She stood up. "Well, I have to go to stable duty. Do you need anything?"
