PERCY

Percy could barely make out the island ahead of the ship- just a dark spot in the mist.
"I want you to do me a favor." Annabeth began. "The Sirens... we'll be in range of their singing soon."
Percy remembered stories about the Sirens. They sang so sweetly their voices enchanted sailors and lured them to their death. "No problem." He assured Annabeth. "We can just stop up our ears. There's a big tub of candle waxbelow deck-"
"I want to hear them."
Percy blinked. Sen scratched the side of her head awkwardly. "What?"
"They say the Sirens sing the truth about what you desire. They tell you things about yourself you didn't even realize. That's what's so enchanting. If you survive... you become wiser. I want to hear them. How often will I get that chance?"
"That's ridiculous. I can tell you about yourself!"
Annabeth glared at Percy, but he never knew when to stop, and he certainly wasn't about to learn now.
"For instance, you're fucking stupi-"
"Percy." Annabeth warned.
Percy still glared at her. "Annabeth, this is crazy. Sen, you're with me on this, right?"
Sen hung her head. "Well-"
Percy shook his head. "No. Don't say it-"
"Well, I kinda wanna hear them too." Sen muttered.
Percy stared at her. "You're joking."
"Annabeth is right." Sen sighed. "In a nutshell, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. And I want to get stronger. You barely even have to do anything, Perce, okay?"
Percy knew there was no talking the girls out of it. If they wanted to do something, they were gonna do it. Whether it meant bribing Percy or beating him to a pulp, they were gonna do it. And the bribing hadn't started yet, which meant he was about two snarky comments away from getting his ass kicked. Reluctantly, he agreed.
As soon as the rocky coastline of the island came into view, he ordered some of the ropes to wrap around Annabeth and Sen's waists, tying them to the foremast.
Sen tugged at them, trying to make sure they were secure. "Tighter."
Percy frowned. "I don't want to suffocate you, Sen."
"I said, tighter."
Percy made the ropes tighter.
"Don't untie me," Annabeth said. "no matter what happens or how much I plead. I'll want to go straight over the edge and drown myself."
"Are you trying to tempt me?"
"Ha-ha." Annabeth said humorlessly. Sen snickered a little bit.
"Okay." Percy sighed, feeling nervous. "Anything else?"
Sen whipped her hair around. "Please tie up my hair before I try to choke myself on it."
