Chiron had insisted the council talk about it in the morning, which was kind of like, Hey, your life's in mortal danger. Sleep tight!

No matter how much Sen tried, she couldn't go to sleep. She swaddled herself for her anxiety, but it just felt scratchy and made her skin tingle, like the blanket wasn't the right texture. She tried to crochet to keep her hands busy, but the hook didn't feel right in her hand. She tried to count butterflies to put herself to sleep, but they started morphing into monsters- gorgons, laistrygonians, turned demigods...

She felt sick just thinking about it. She ended up puking twice that night, the very idea of an invasion making her sick to her stomach. She felt like there should be a guard team, or a defense line of some sort. Even if it was just one person whose whole job was to alert the camp of any movement around the entrance.

Before she knew it, it was dawn. The Apollo cabin started stirring. Sen figured it was about time to get out of bed despite the fact that the council wouldn't be called until after breakfast- some time after nine. She got dressed in a black skirt and a sea green crochet summer top, and began brewing a pot of coffee. She hadn't slept all night, and she knew she'd need the coffee to get her through the day.

She even considered buying some Mountain Dew, but she knew she shouldn't.

Some time very shortly after dawn, Percy made his appearance. He sat next to Sen, immediately asking her if she was okay.

"Am I okay?" Sen repeated. "I'm drinking coffee straight out of the pot with a silly straw. What do you think?"

Percy smiled softly. "Sorry. That was a dumb question."

Sen shook her head. "It's... sorry." She sighed as she dumped some more sugar and cream into the whole pot. "Want some?"

"I don't like that stuff." Percy shrugged.

"Well, I also have tea. Do you want some tea?"

Percy started blushing. "Um, you don't need to-"

"I have blueberry tea."

"Ooh!" Percy grinned. Sen smiled at him as she got her kettle going on the hotplate.

She sighed at her little corner on the patio. She didn't have a house of her own, or a closet, or a room, but she'd made a home for herself, and she figured that was good enough.

"Sen... you said you've been in the Labyrinth before, right?"

Sen looked down as she sipped her coffee, and she slowly nodded. "Yes."

"When?" Percy whispered, like he almost didn't want Sen to hear him.

Sen sat up straighter. She brushed her hair out of her eyes and cleared her throat. "Clarisse and I were deployed out to Gettysburg. Our- Our goal was to see if she could control more Confederates, since that is the deadliest battle in American history, and there's thousands of dead Confederates there. We thought we could use them to add more numbers to us... maybe to ambush Mount Tam."
