Monsters and Hunters Part.1 (Dennor)

In the world. There was a mixture of good and evil.

Good took the form of simple humans, and monster hunters.

Evil, was in the form of the monsters that threatened humanity.

But not all monsters were bad...

On the night of the harvest moon, when the monsters had their powers amplified... a new monster was born.

He was different from the others, having the most powerful abilities, and looking almost human. This monster though, used his powers not to hurt the humans, but to protect them.

He was only a small creature, when he met a young child. The little boy approached him, and reached out a hand in a gesture of friendship.

"Hi! I'm Mathias! What's your name?" The little boy asked the monster.

"I-I'm Lukas." The monster replied, shying away from the other's touch.

As the two grew older, they became friends... but lost touch in later years. Lukas grew to become a gorgeous, almost angelic-looking winged monster... while Mathias was trained to become a monster hunter.

On the day that they both turned 19, Mathias was sent out on his first mission to kill a monster. He didn't want to though.

Remembering his friend from years past, he returned to the spot where they used to meet. Immediately, Lukas flew down from a tree, and landed in front of Mathias.

"I can't take it anymore. They want me to kill your people, but I won't. Please...let me live in the forest with you." Mathias begged, throwing his weapons onto the ground.

Lukas sighed. "I guess you can. But it'll be hard keeping the others away from you." He replied.

There was a short silence, before Mathias ran over to Lukas and gave him a huge hug. "I've missed you." he whispered, petting his friend's soft wings.

"I missed you too, you oaf. Why did you never visit, hmm??" The shorter monster scolded, throwing Mathias a glare.

"Trust me, I wanted to. But they wouldn't let me... and I could never tell them I was friends with you." Mathias responded, never letting go.

Lukas rolled his eyes. "Okay, okay! But oh my- you've grown so much!" He stated, a light blush spreading across his cheeks. 'He's so incredibly hot now..'

"Yeah, and you're as beautiful as ever. And wow, your wings are so soft!" Mathias complimented, not noticing the blush.

Lukas broke away from the hug, and stared at the ground. "D-don't say things like that." He protested.

"Why not? It's true!"

"But- i'm a monster."

"No. You're not. You're an angel."

"...I've killed before..."

"Not everyone is perfect."

And with that, Lukas opened his wings, and flew up into the air. He swooped downward, and grabbed Mathias, carrying him back upward into the sky. The act was so sudden, that Mathias let out a fearful shriek, only to realise everything was okay.

After a few minutes of flying, Lukas set down near the top of a mountain, in a large cave. "I've never taken you here, but this is my home." He stated, setting Mathias down.

"Wow, nice view!" The human exclaimed, peering outward at the landscape below them.

"I guess. Anyway. I've been meaning to say something to you..." Lukas said quietly, looking bashfully at the wall.

"Whatcha gotta say?" Mathias asked curiously.

"Well...monsters kind of have this thing, where they see someone for the first time and kind of click. Anyway, when they find that one monster they click with, the two stay together forever, and are basically lovers. But... when I clicked, it wasn't with another monster." Lukas explained, face turning redder by the minute.

"Uh...? Wait what?" Mathias questioned, not getting the hint.

"Sometimes though, the click isn't reciprocated. Usually when that happens, the one that did get the click dies of heartbreak." Lukas continued.

"So...you want me to help you find the person you clicked with? Is that what you're saying?" Mathias asked, feeling a twinge of jealousy and disappointment.

Lukas let out an exasperated sigh. "No, dumbass! I clicked with you! Get it?" He said loudly, readying himself for rejection.

"Wow! That's great! Now I know why when I saw you the first time, I immediately fell in love." Mathias responded, stepping towards Lukas.

The angel's eyes widened. "R-Really? O-or are you just teasing me?" He stuttered out.

"Why would I tease about something like that. I love you, dammit! Wings and all! And I will never ever leave you!" Mathias exclaimed, wrapping an arm around Lukas' waist. He pulled the angel closer to him, and met his lips with a long but gentle kiss.

And they were happy.

Together, forever.
