In new york city, there lived a group of heroes. These heroes kept the people safe, and the villains away with their powers. But whenever the bad guys were defeated, they returned again, even stronger. This cycle went on until there would come a day when the dark forces won.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The thing was. The villains were just misunderstood. Yes, they wanted to be in control, and yes, they had destroyed things before...but they really just wanted to be accepted. It had started when the two were teens. They had been bullied for being 'different', and ultimately were pushed too far. That was why they were the way they were.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The three heroes had gone through much the same struggle, though they had chosen to use their powers differently. They were convinced that humanity had to be protected at all costs. And it did. But how much would have to be sacrificed for peace?

"Hey Ber, we have a disturbance in central park. I suspect another bad guy." A blonde haired man called to his comrade. He turned his lavender eyes back to the computer screen, absentmindedly fixing the cross clip in his hair.

"On it, Lukas." Berwald replied, opening up the door. He noticed that their other comrade Emil hadn't been around much that day, and just chocked it up to teenage angst. The tall blonde man, stared out the window with his piercing blue eyes, before going down to ground level in the elevator.

He was annoyed that bad people kept ruining his day. It had been the third disturbance that morning! The bad guys were just getting to be two powerful.

With a sigh, Berwald shot off into the sky, and made his way speedily to Central Park. There, he saw his arch enemy sitting calmly on a park bench. The spikey-haired man had his back turned to Berwald, but laughed as though he knew he was there.

"Quit sneaking around and attack already." The man called behind him.

Berwald flew down until he was hovering two inches above the ground, and moved over to his enemy. "Mathias. I don't see why you have to be evil." He tried to reason, as he always did before a fight.

Mathias laughed loudly. "Good one Berwald, good one. Nice try, but I can't!" He said, turning around and shooting a beam of light at his opponent suddenly.

Berwald fell backwards onto the ground, and felt someone else come up beside him. It definitely wasn't Mathias. Far too quiet.

His glasses had been knocked off by the fall, but he could just barely make out a pair of gorgeous violet eyes. The longer he stared up into them, the more he began to feel dizzy. Then the world went dark.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Berwald woke up a few hours later in a cell. He sat up on his small cot, and rubbed his forehead to clear up a pounding headache.
The tall man had known about his enemies' powers, but had been careless. Mathias could shoot paralyzing bolts of light from his hands... while the other bad guy, Tino, could stun with his eyes, as well as force people to do things. All Berwald could do was fly, and he had super strength. Lukas could manipulate people, objects, and could conjure things... while Emil controlled elements.
Though Emil was basically the strongest out of them all, he rarely liked to help out. Since he was younger than the others, the teen mostly spent his days in his room texting. Though, if there was a major battle he went to help out.
--
Berwald surveyed his surroundings, and noticed that his cell was actually pretty large. And he assumed that he could bust out easily due to his strength. But when he tried bending the bars, he felt a presence enter the room. Immediately, he was forced by the unseen presence, to put his hands down and walk back to his cot.
There was a small laugh, and Berwald noticed Tino sitting in the hallway outside of the cell. 'how did I not see him there before?' the tall blonde thought, glaring in his enemy's direction.
"Hey, why the glare? I didn't even do anything to you." Tino exclaimed with a small pout, knowing full-well what he had done.
"Why don't you just kill me? Or let your crazy boyfriend kill me." Berwald growled.
Tino rolled his eyes. "First off, Mat is NOT my boyfriend! Though I do tend to go for tall blonde guys~ Just usually the hot silent ones. Second off, Mat did try to kill you, but I stopped him." He explained, picking at a broken nail on his hand.
Berwald was confused. The smaller blonde HAD to have some good in him if he had saved an enemy from death... he decided to try his luck with convincing the other male. After all, he had never actually been able to try before, due to Mathias distracting him. 'But maybe that was the plan all along...maybe Tino is more susceptible to suggestion.'
"If you didn't let me die. Then there must be some good left in you." Berwald pointed out.
Tino hesitated for a moment. "No. There isn't anything good left in me. I have nothing to live for but achieving my goals." He stated, as though it was something scripted.
'Yeah, he can definitely be changed. As soon as Mathias is out of the way..' Berwald thought, planning.
"Come here. Up to the bars." Tino said suddenly, interrupting his train of thought. Without warning, Berwald's body began to move towards the bars. "That's better. Now listen closely. There's no escape from here, and no one will come to save you. So just don't even try." Tino told him, looking kind of sad and distant.
"I know you don't like doing this." Berwald whispered.
Tino frowned. "Stop it! I do!"
"No. You don't. Your life could be so much more than this." Berwald persuaded, trying so bery hard to get him to see.
"That's a lie! Mathias said that all of you guys just want to take away our freedom! That you're just stuck-up, annoying freaks! And that you're just like the rest of the bullies!" Tino shouted, his eyes beginning to glow.
Berwald could definitely sense a breakthrough. "I believe that you're better than this. Mathias lied to you. I was bullied too for a long time. And I don't want to take anyone's freedom." He reasoned, standing at the bars.
"Mathias told me that you would be my downfall someday. He told me to stay away from you." Tino said, pausing. "Now I see why he told me those things."
"Did he ever explain why I would be your downfall?" Berwald asked, curious as to what sort of things his arch enemy had been telling Tino.
The smaller blonde frowned, and thought for a bit. After a minute, he answered. "He said that I would fall in love with you."
