It was dark outside, and a cold breeze blew through a carelessly open window. The freezing winter air swept throughout the large house, and chilled its occupants. One by one, they left their various rooms, and went to find the source of all the cold.
A small Finnish male, Tino, was the first to arrive at the scene, followed by his Icelandic friend Emil. The two wordlessly found the window, and made sure it was shut tight.
"Who do you think did it, Ice?" The Finn wondered aloud, shivering in the cold that had settled upon the whole house.
"I bet it was Den. He's the only one that would do something like that." The Icelander replied, rolling his eyes. They heard a set of loud footsteps coming down the stairs...and the loud Dane they had spoken about appeared. He was dragging Lukas along behind him, causing the Norwegian to look extremely pissed off. "Heya everybody! I brought mr. grumpy pants along to find out about all the coldness!" Mathias shouted, letting go of Lukas.
"Can I leave?" The Norwegian asked monotonously, crossing his arms.
The only one who hadn't arrived yet was Berwald, and the others wondered if he even felt the cold. As soon as they had thought that, he seemed to appear out of nowhere from the living room.
"Hi there, Su-san!" Tino greeted, giving a small wave.
"Okay okay. Let's just cut to the chase and lock Den in the closet." Emil butted in, accusing the Danish male.
The accused gasped, and put a hand over his heart. "I would never!" He protested a bit too dramatically. "I bet you secretly did it, Icey!"
"And why the hell would I do that?" Emil asked, sporting a pissed-off-face that rivaled that of his brother.
Just then Emil's pet, Mr. Puffin, flew over and landed on the windowsill. "It was me, dumbasses! I was out with my friends, and accidentally left the window open." The talking bird confessed in an exasperated tone.
"Why you little-" Lukas started, reaching for the puffin.
Emil pushed him out of the way, and grabbed his little friend, cradling him in his arms. "Don't you dare, Nor!" He growled, and left the group to sit huffily on the couch.
"Uhhh... should someone go see if he's okay?" Tino questioned awkwardly, taking a step away from the others.
Mathias, hearing the suggestion, immediately dashed over to Emil. He plopped down next to him, and they began talking.
If looks could kill, Lukas would have murdered everyone within miles of him. He seemed to be totally done with the entire situation, yet strangely reluctant to leave.
Tino was sensing the tense atmosphere, and took another few steps away. "Feeling alright, Nor nor?" He asked in a small voice, a bit terrified to be honest.
"Yeah Finny, i'm good." Lukas responded, his face reverting back to its original blank expression.
"Need to talk about anything? I'm always here to help!" The Finn offered, concerned for his friend's wellbeing.
Berwald stood off to the side, watching everything unfold. He was content with simply staying silent, and making sure nobody got into fights.
"Thank you... I guess maybe I have some things I need to talk about." Lukas said to Tino, walking over to him. The Finn smiled, and gave the other nation a quick hug before leading him off to the kitchen to chat. Little did they realise, both Mathias and Berwald were watching them suspiciously.
"So Icey Ice, wanna help me spy on your bro?" The Danish nation asked, turning back to Emil.
The Icelander momentarily sustained a slight evil smile, before accepting the offer. The two then stealthily made their way to the kitchen door, and put their ears to it.
