Dull light flooded through a small window, to pour onto a figure asleep in bed. The man had spikey blonde hair, and a sprinkling of freckles across his pale face. It was obvious he was very tired, yet as the light shone on his resting form, he awoke.

The room was completely silent.

He turned to where his partner usually slept, only to be reminded that the other man was not there.

With a long, drawn-out sigh the blonde curled into a ball hugging his knees to his chest. He could feel the hot tears pricking at the corners of his eyes.

For what seemed like the thousandth time that night, he cried. Sobbed for minutes on end, as he clutched onto his own legs for comfort.

The sight was heartbreaking.

It was the sight of a man who had lost his lover to death.

A broken being, consumed by sadness and longing to touch that silky hair one last time. Or maybe just stare into those beautiful lavender eyes for a few more moments.

But he knew that that would never happen, and gave in to his feelings of grief and loss.

Nobody would ever replace his true love.

Nobody would ever be able to fill the gap in his heart that Lukas had left.

Nobody could console or help him.

He just wanted to scream at the top of his lungs, or just do something to release the pain he felt.

Time seemed to stop as the lone man lay there. Drowning.
