CHAPTER TWO:

Bella and I stood on the sidewalk outside of an Italian airport waiting for Alice to rent a car to take us to our next destination. I ignored my cousin's nervous fidgeting and stuck my nose into my books, letting the dark fantasies of the three master doms and their little submissive wife carry my worries away. I myself obviously had no experience with this sort of thing but I could honestly see the appeal. I'm probably a little too independent for that kind of relationship but to each their own.

"Damn Cas, give the poor girl a break, you're gonna destroy her." I mumbled to myself, blushing furiously as I read about him railing while she hung from the ceiling. Poor thing had been edged to within an inch of her life and still hadn't safeworded.

"Can you get your nose out of your book and have the decency to worry even a little bit? Edward could die, you know!" Bella grumbled at me harshly, making me laugh internally.

"One, worrying would do no good, just give me more white hairs." I joked, pointing at my snow white hair, "and two he's your ex, not mine. I don't care if he dies, he treated you horribly. You just don't see it because you're looking at him through rose tinted glasses. Three, I know everything will work out. Call it intuition. Something tells me that as long as we are smart, nothing bad will happen."

Right when I finished speaking a bright yellow Porsche screeched to a stop in front of us and the window rolled down revealing an oddly dressed Alice Cullen. She wore a large sun hat, a scarf and gloves that layered over her already long sleeves that covered most of her skin. She looked crazy. It's like Eighty degrees!

"Get in!" She urged, hitting the unlock button on the steering wheel.

I climbed into the back while Bella sat up front and once again Alice was peeling away from the curb at an insane speed that had me whipping around in my seat as she drove. I quickly reached back and pulled the seatbelt harshly, clicking it into place to increase my chance of survival if her crazy driving got us into an accident.

"I'm guessing this isn't a rental?" I snarked, eyeing the wires I could see hanging from the dashboard.

"I didn't figure you'd be too opposed to grand theft auto." Alice answered with a faraway look in her eyes like she was daydreaming while driving.

"Not today!" Bella answered for me before asking,"What's happening, Alice? Where is he?" She was gripping onto the center console while her eyes flicked from our driver to the scenery that was flying by in a blur.

"Oh yes, Charlie will be thrilled when we end up in a foreign prison for stealing some rich guy's shiny new car." I grumble quietly to myself, surprised that my cousin was so okay with committing a felony.

"The Volturi refused him. He's still deciding on his next step but I think he's going to do something stupid to force their hand." Alice answered, frowning as she pressed down harder on the gas as a bad feeling settled in the pit of my stomach.

"If we crash and I die, I'm coming back to haunt your ass, Cullen!" I hissed, gripping my seatbelt while trying to calm my nerves, "and who the hell are the Volturi? What the fuck is going on? You still haven't explained anything to me!"

"I'll explain soon, I promise you'll find out just not right this second!" Alice replied rather harshly while her eyes in the rearview mirror pleaded for me to be patient.

"I don't even know why we brought her!" Bella complained, waving her hand toward me, "It's not like she's going to be any help."

Alice whipped her head over to Bella and glared at her, making Bella rear back surprised, "Isabella, you need to be nicer to your cousin! She came with us to help you even though she owes us nothing and doesn't even like my brother! Be grateful! I wouldn't have asked her to come if it wasn't important!"
