CHAPTER SEVEN:
Days three and four were spent much the same, cuddling with Marcus, eating delicious food and watching random disney movies while getting to know each other more. We kissed often and cuddled constantly, both of us craving physical contact. Some time during day four the bond began to pull on my chest again so I asked Marcus where Aro and Caius were, having not seen them since my first night here. He told me they were dealing with the trials then finishing up several meetings and taking care of some contracts that were now void and needed to be ended immediately.
He sounded a little off when explaining it to me like there was something else to it but I decided not to push it, assuming it was something vampire related and therefore I'd be little to no help at all.
Day five my phone rang for the first time and Charlie's name flashed across the screen.
I swiped to answer and placed the phone to my ear and said, "Hello?"
"Sophia Rose Sawn, where the hell are you, young lady?" Charlie demanded, sounding both relieved that I had answered and upset for obvious reasons.
I frowned and said, "I'm sorry uncle Charlie. I came here to help Bella and then kinda fell in love with the place. I was starting to feel a little overwhelmed and honestly the second I landed here I felt a weird sense of peace. I just wanted to stay for a little while to relax, you know? Decompress a little."
"I can understand the kiddo, but you didn't call me to let me know you were okay! I had no idea if you were even alive!" He explained making me scowl.
"What do you mean you didn't know if I was alive? I told Bella to tell you I was okay and just wanted to stay here for a bit? Didn't she say anything?" I demanded, feeling my anger build toward my younger cousin.
"Soph, I've hardly seen her since she came home. She walked through the door, I grounded her, she went to bed and the next morning she was gone. She's almost never here and she has said maybe five words to me since she got here. She spends all of her time at the Cullens. Not even Jake has been able to reach her at this point." Charlie sounded exhausted and fed up but also slightly hurt. His own daughter was ignoring him? What the actual fuck?
"I swear I told her to tell you what was going on 'Uncle Charlie. You know me. I'd never just disappear on you. I came here with her to keep my promise to you to watch out for her. I'm so sorry!" I sighed, feeling tears of both guilt and anger well up in my eyes.
Isabella had abandoned Charlie and allowed him to believe I had done the same in his time of need. He literally just lost one of his lifelong friends! Did the stupid girl care nothing for the man that has been nothing but living and supportive of both of them their whole lives?
"Don't cry little bug. Just, promise me you'll call more and let me know when you're coming home okay? You're an adult so I can't really drag you back but you know I'm always here right?" His voice was much calmer and gentler, obviously hearing how upset I was now.
"I'll call every day, I promise! Thank you for understanding, Uncle Charlie. I love you." I say, trying to lighten my voice so he can't hear how upset I actually am.
"Love you too kid, I'm going to go now. The game is on and Billy should be here soon." I could hear him smirking, obviously anticipating winning a bet on who'd win.
"Bye." I replied and ended the call, sending myself back into the quietness of my room.
Today was dragging longer because all three kings were needed for trials so I had been left alone to my own devices, making the pull in my chest that much more uncomfortable. Doubts had begun to settle into my head but I did my best to push them away knowing it was probably just me overthinking things.
