CHAPTER FOUR:

The two men that had led me into the castle were now guiding me through a maze of hallways toward a private library as Aro had instructed them to. Apparently someone named Heidi was due to arrive any moment and they did not want me there for that so I was sent on my way with a gentle smile and a promise to answer questions in the near future.

"So," I broke the silence," What are your names? I kind of keep giving you random names in my head and it would be nice to have an actual name for the face."

The big guy speaks first, answering, "I am Felix, My Lady."

I frown at the nickname, not liking it at all and the sandy-haired guy smirks, "I am Demirti, Mistress."

"Whoa there bucko, I'm kinky but I'm not that kinky! Let's drop the nicknames. I'm Sophia or Soph or Sophie or Phie. Any variation really. Not Mistress or My Lady! Capiche?" I huff, glaring at their smirking faces.

"As you wish, Sophia." They speak in unison, kind of creeping me out a little.

We came to a stop in front of a set of large, warm, wooden doors and pushed them open with one hand, revealing a massive room filled floor to ceiling with shelves up on shelves of books. There is only a small spot that isn't covered in a shelf and instead it has a fireplace that is blazing, casting a warm glow through the room. Near the first are several chairs and a couch. Near each seat is an antique looking table and every surface has a book or two on it. The floors are a gray stone but are covered in several fancy looking ornate carpets.

"It's beautiful." I mumble, running into the room and straight to the first shelf I see. I hear Felix and Demitri chuckle behind me as I run my fingers along the spines of the books gently reading a few of the titles and recognizing almost none of them. There are a few classics, rows and rows of what looks like Mythology and several shelves of non fiction works and biographies.

"Eww, you guys have no romance." I grumbled, turning to pout at the guards.

They looked amused at my reaction and demitri offered, "There are a few romantic classics. One of Master Marcus's favorites is Pride and Prejudice. I'm sure we have several copies in here."

I blushed and hummed in response, not bothering to inform him of the exact type of romance books I preferred. They definitely didn't need to know such things yet if ever. But that reminded me of something.

"Hey when dropped down that stupid black fold I dropped my bag. Do either of you know where it is?" I asked as I took a seat on one of the comfortable chairs near the first to warm up my cold body.

"I believe it was taken to a guest room that is being prepared for you as we speak." Demitri answered.

I nodded, "Okay, thank you."

I reached over and picked up the closest book to me from the table next to the chair, and began flipping through the pages. It happened to be in Greek and pertained to the ancient myths and gods. It was actually interesting. I felt eyes on me and looked up to see the guards both watching me curiously.

"What?" I asked, confused as to why they were staring at me with that look.

"You know greek?" Felix asked, his deep voice full of curiosity.

I gave him a cheeky smile and replied, "Yes, my mother was Greek. It's actually my first language but I mostly speak English now."

" είμαι εντυπωσιασμένος " Demitri laughed. (I'm impressed.)

I smirked, " ευχαριστώ " (thank you)

I went back to reading my book but looked up and set it aside as I heard the doors to the library open. The three kings entered, no longer wearing their cloaks and their eyes shining a slightly brighter red than before.

Demitri and Felix both bowed their heads at the kings, im guessing to show respect, and exited the library. I'm guessing they didn't go far though. It's like I somehow knew they were just outside of the doors that were once again closed, trapping the warmth of the first inside.

Marcus's gaze was the first to find me, perched in my chair feet dangling loosely, not touching the floor. It's like the furniture here was made for giants. In retrospect it kind of was with all three of them being over six feet tall. Damn I hate being short.

"Piccolo," Marcus greeted me, "I hope your wait was not too long or boring."

The other two turned to me and all three of them moved closer. Taking the seats closest to me. I smiled and looked them over to see if I could see any other differences. They did seem slightly more relaxed than before. Their eyes were definitely brighter than they were. I noticed all three wore a matching golden pendant around their necks with some kind of V shaped crest and I wondered what it stood for. I also noticed. Upon closer inspection, Aro had once again donned his gloves.

"No, it was fine. I love your library. It's beautiful here." I answered while thinking, Though you are sadly lacking in my favorite genre.

"This is my favorite room in the castle." Marcus smiles, sitting back and crossing one leg over the other while resting his arms on the sides. His posture is much more relaxed here than it was in the throne room.

There was a brief silence before Aro spoke, "As we understand it, you were brought to Voltera with very little information on what you were walking into, correct?"

I nodded, "Correct, though I have noticed a few things since arriving."

"Such as?" Caius asks, his voice curious, without a trace of his usual harsh tone.

I hummed to myself while thinking before answering, "Well you are extraordinarily beautiful, pale and cold. You seem to move faster than I can see sometimes. That or you teleport. I haven't figured that out yet. Some of you have strange....abilities? I noticed you all share these characteristics with the Cullens. They have golden eyes though and you all have red eyes so there's a difference there." I pause and watch them curiously. Aro and Marcus are nodding but Caius seems to scrunch his face up when I mention their similarities to the Cullen family.

"Then in the big room, I'm assuming it's some kind of throne room? Well, in there you mentioned being immortal which confused the absolute crap out me but then my brain did its thing and I think I have some of it figured out. I can share my theory if you'd like?" I asked, as they smiled at me, looking slightly amused and worried at the same time.

"Please do share, cara mia." Caius smirks, resting his chin on his palm as he leans forward with his elbows resting on his knees.

"Well if I go based off of some of the books I've read and some legends spliced together I can only assume you're vampires." I shrug. They all freeze and I keep my eyes on them, watching for any kind of reaction to confirm my crazy theory. Either I'm stupid and looking tooo deeply into this shit or I'm right and I'm possibly goign to die tonight.

"You are correct." Aro concedes eventually, with a graceful nod, while keeping eye contact with me.

I keep eye contact with Aro asn I can feel both Marcus and Caius's eyes burning holes in my face as I lean back and tap my fingers on the arm of the chair as I let my brain process that information.

Okay, Vampires. They are vampires. They drink blood. Does that mean the Cullens are vampires? Then why are their eyes different? Are there different types of vampires? Is Bella in danger near them? Is Charlie in danger? I'm going to murder Edwards stupid ancient corpse if he even thinks of hurting my family.

"What is going through your beautiful head, darling?" Caius asks, noticing a familiar look in her eyes that he often sees in his own.

"I'm contemplating murder." I mumble absentmindedly as I go over the potential ways to kill a vampire in my head.

A steak to the heart? Fire? Holy water? Can I tie him up and toss him onto holy ground?

"Not one of us, I hope." Aro says, looking a little worried at me.

I smirk and shake my head, "Edward Cullen. That parasite has already hurt my little cousin once. If he tries it again I'll find a way to end his pathetic existence."

"Oh my." Aro mumbles.
