CHAPTER SEVENTEEN
I woke up the next morning to my mates talking in hushed voices as I snuggled closer to the scent of my most eccentric mate.
"How are you feeling, Cara Mia? Did I hurt you?" Aro asked, gently brushing the hair from my face and placing a kiss on my forehead.
I let out a yawn and stretched, wincing slightly at my sore muscles and the tenderness between my legs before answering, " I'm a little sore but it's nothing a hot bath and some Tylenol won't help. That's to be expected."
"We need to get up soon, my love. We have a meeting with the wolves in an hour and a half and then we can relax and do whatever you want for the remainder of the day." Aro promised, moving into a sitting position which caused me to straddle his lap. Thankfully he kept the blankets wrapped securely around me.
"But I was comfy!" I whined, letting my forehead fall into his shoulder, "You're mean!"
"Il mio piccolo fiore, we need to get ready. You need to have a bath and have breakfast before we head to the meeting." Marcus said, coming out of the bathroom where I could hear water running and smell my favorite bubble bath.
"Fine." I huffed, pulling the top blanket tightly around me as I swung my noodle legs over the side of the bed.
I attempted to stand up only to fall right back onto the bed, making Aro chuckle and give me a cheeky smile when I whipped my head around to glare at him.
"I blame you. Damn noodle legs." I grumbled, freeing an arm from my blanket shield and holding it out to Marcus.
Marcus gave me a smile and helped me up and into the bathroom, setting me on the edge of the tub before leaving the room.
I let the blanket fall and swung my legs into the hot water, letting myself sink down into the bubbles. My senses were filled with the scent of lavender and most of the soreness and tension left my body.
I took my time, washing myself thoroughly, taking note of a few dark marks that littered my skin. Once I was done and satisfied that my body was clean, I climbed out and dried off and wrapped a dry towel around me.
When I got back out to the bedroom, Marcus was the only one there and he was searching through my suitcases. He turned when he heard me come out and his eyes shot open wide at the sight of me.
"Is it that bad?" I asked with a frown, looking down at myself.
He cleared his throat and answered, " He was definitely making a claim. Are you sure you're okay?"
"Perfectly fine, " I nodded, and blushed in embarrassment, "I don't even feel it. If he had been human, I can assure he would have marks as well."
He gave me a gentle smile and held out a stack of clothing for me then gently pushed me back toward the bathroom where I got dressed quickly.
Marcus led me downstairs where Aro was running around the kitchen and Caius was sitting at the island, flipping through some paperwork with a bored look on his face. When my foot hit the last step their heads turned toward me.
"You look belissima, Mia Regina!" Aro said with a happy smile as he ran over and placed a soft hiss to my lips.
"Thank you. Something smells good, you aren't attempting to set fire to the kitchen are you?" I asked with a cheeky grin, ignoring the stares of my blonde mate who still has not taken his eyes off of me.
Aro scoffed and said, "Have a little faith in me. I am capable of preparing a meal for my mate. I've made you pancakes, that thing you referred to as an egg in a basket and a glass of apple juice."
