A Second Chance

Chapter 14

Third person POV

It had been two years after the Avengers split up. Steve and Hinata were happily engaged.

Hinata had been frequently visiting Kamar Taj and training with the sorcerers. She had mastered chakra control and also learner many jutsus specific to her clan. Along with that she had learner to use energy beams, barriers and Stephen had taught her how to use a sling ring.

Steve, Natasha and Sam would go on missions and Bucky had been spending a lot of time with her. He wasn't sure if it was the fact that they were both similar in being new to this world or her comforting nature but he loved to be around her.

Hinata and Stephen had successfully healed Rhodes and he was back to being the war machine.

But on top of everything....Hinata was 9 months pregnant. They were expecting twins, girl and boy.

Hinata's POV

I was in the kitchen making coffee for everyone. Everyone included Steve, Natasha, Bucky and Sam. Bucky was just keeping me company her while the other three had just returned from a mission. A silly smile was on my lips but it falls when I hear a voice "Steve... We need you".

I walk away from the stove and lean on the door frame. From the conversation so far, I had figured it was Bruce and he explained how the universe was in trouble and Vision needed help. Why now..... Everything was perfect......My due date was near...

"Ah...." I whimper as sharp pain shoots through my core. Everyone rushes to my side "Hina..what's wrong" Steve said holding my hand. "She's in labour you idiot!" Natasha smacks him arm. "Steve you need to go... Bucky..get me my ring" I say sternly. Bucky hesitates but rushes to the bedroom. "I'm not leaving you alone Hina" Steve say cupping my cheeks. I smile and gently push away his hands "I can handle myself honey, Vision needs you". Bucky hands me the ring and rushes out to the bathroom with his suit.

I smile and slip the ring onto my fingers. I pull Steve into a kiss and smile pulling away before moving my hand in a circle. Steve whispers a sorry and steps through the portal. Once they all left I close the portal and slide down against the wall. I groan in pain and think for a while. The pain between my legs was increasing. I move my hand again and through the portal Mordo stares at me. He quickly steps through the portal "oh my god! Are you about to give birth??". I nod as he smiles and picks me up. He took me through the portal and to the medics at Kamar Taj.

Steve's POV

I felt it, her pain. Not physically but emotionally. As much as I hated that she was in pain, it gave me a sense of relief that she was okay and giving birth. I do wonder where she would have gone to in such pain. Now I really regret leaving her like that.

"What are you doing captain! Pay attention!" Thor yells making me flinch and look at him. I realised that I had stopped fighting. I apologise "sorry. It's just that..... Hinata was in labour when I left to help Vision". He grins "that just motivated me to finish this quickly and go see her and the kid".

I smile and focus on the fight. My attention was drawn towards an explosion. I run towards it, kill the creature in my way. Thor flies past me.

Upon reaching there I see Thanos disappearing into blue mist. "Where did he go?" I ask but Thor doesn't answer. I was about to ask again but I hear Bucky call me. I look in his direction just for my eyes to widen in horror. He disappeared....... He disappeared! I walk to where he was supposed to be and touch the dust that was left behind.

I hold my head in my hands and let out a groan. Hinata wasn't answering my calls. We were back at the compound but not before checking our apartment and all the nearby hospitals. The thing that scared me the most was that I wasn't feeling her strong emotions after everyone disappeared. No....she couldn't have..no.

"Mr. Rogers. There is an email from someone named Mr. Mordo. They have asked for your presence in Kamar Taj as soon as possible" I hear Friday and spring up from my seat and so does Thor. "We didn't check that place, it's practically her second home on earth!" I say and he nods.
