A Second Chance

Chapter 12

Hinata's POV

I grunt as the man tugs my hands behind my back and pushes me to walk towards the jet. I sit beside Wanda and Pietro was pushed beside me by Vision, our hands cuffed. The black suit man sits across from me and glares removing his mask. My attention diverts to Tony who rushes in with an injured James. My eyes widen and I spring up from my seat "James...". The man across from me growls but Tony looks at him in panic "leave her".

The man hesitates but uncuffs my hands and I rush towards James who was now lying on a table. Tony quickly removes his suit and I activate Byakugan to scan all the injuries. A frown forms on my face and I place my palm on his injuries. My chakra glowing green and healing his wounds. I pull away after a while and bite my lips. Tears threatened to roll down my eyes as Tony stopped pacing around and walks towards me. Seeing James with no injury, he smiles and wraps his arms around me, pulling me into a tight hug. I wasn't able to hold back the tears when I heard him say "thank you so much Hinata, thank you".

Hearing me sob, he pulls away and holds my shoulder "what happened Hina?". "I... I'm sorry... I'm not good enough... I can't heal him completely..." I say looking down at my feet. His arms fall to his side "what do you mean?". I stay silent for a while until I hear him again, but much louder and stern "what do you mean Hinata?". "His spine.. is badly damaged. His... his body, hips down, has paralyzed. I... I'm not capable of treating such injury" I stutter. He takes a step back and I look up at him to see the disbelief in his eyes.

He then looks at Vision who looked guilty. Tony was about to pounce at the Android but I hold his hand and look at him with pleading eyes "please don't fight amongst yourselves Tony. Please...". My pleading seemed to have some effect and he steps back and sits down beside James.

I take my previous seat and the man from earlier speaks "I'm T'Challa, the Prince, well now King of Wakanda". I give him a small smile and nod "I'm Hinata Hyuga. I was hoping to be the next head of my clan but that's not possible now". He looked confused so I continue "I'm actually from a different dimension, that's what everyone say. I came here just a few weeks ago maybe even a month". He nods "the man you let escape killed my father along with some other people". My eyes widen "Steve would never do such a thing". He shakes his head as no "not Steve, the other guy who was with him".

I stay silent for a while then give him a small smile "I trust my man into doing what's right. I suggest you all to look into matter properly. With calm head and forget about fighting for a while. Fighting within yourselves would bring you nothing". He takes in my words and Wanda smiles at me "you really trust him don't you". I nod smiling and chuckle when Pietro's head falls on my shoulder in sleep.

I was feeling worried about this situation. It felt like something very bad was going to take place. After watching the fight all I could think about was the Avengers splitting up. I could just hope that Steve would not get hurt badly. I had grown very much attached to the man and I cared for him the most here. At some point I didn't care about the Avengers, I only wanted my mate by my side, safe and unharmed.

As the jet landed, we were leds into a room with multiple compartment. Me, Clint, Wanda, Pietro, Scott who was the backseat guy and Sam, all off us were locked into individual cells and we had to change into some blue clothes. I sigh and slide down against.

I swear I'm gonna beat up Steve when I see him. First of all he was being all awkward around me, then he leave without saying anything plus doesn't contact me in any way. Then there was this fight going on which, as Clint said was mainly between Steve and Tony. They got all the Avengers involved in this and now James was the one badly injured. He lost his ability to use his legs.... And I wasn't able to help him. I was useless at such moments, where I'm needed the most.

After what felt like eternity, I hear a commotion outside. I activate Byakugan and my face splits into a smile when I sense Steve. He walks into the room and smiles at us, staring to unlock the cells. When my cell opened, I walk out on stare at him. He had a few wounds but nothing major.

He smiles at me and say "oh come on I expect a hug, or even a kiss". I make a face and extend my arm, pointing my index and middle finger at him. "Lock on" I mumble and strike his core, knocking him to the ground. The others stare at us and Clint laughs "wow....". Steve groans and looks at me from his position on the floor "w..what was that for". I narrow my eyes at him "that was for worrying me so much and also hurting your friends. Do you know just what this stupid battle of yours led to" as I spoke my voice got more frustrated. He frowns and gets up coughing "what do you mean?". "Rhodes has been paralyzed from waist down". His face turns into a shocked one and he looks away "let's get going before we get into some other trouble".
