They all get inside and settle in. JJ was definitely out of his comfort zone, surrounded by that many dressed up people, but he still managed to have fun.
The pogues had just got done taking pictures in the Photo Booth; using props and hats and feathery scarfs.
Afterwards, They all went over to the food table to get punch, when JJ heard a familiar voice
"Omg, JJ?!" He hears a perky girl yell from behind.
The rest of the pogues thought she sounded familiar too, so they all looked back to see what was going on
"Ohhh my god, please help" JJ painfully whispers to Kie as the girl kept walking up to them
"Omg what I coincidence!!" She says again with an annoying laugh "what are you doing here"
"Heyyyy yea...ra-chh-el??" He says, not remembering her name
"Rosetta, right" she corrects him
"Rosetta that's right" he says, pretending to care
The rest of the pogues start laughing, knowing this had to be awkward for JJ
"Weren't you only here for vacation or something like that?" JJ says, wanting her to leave "why um, why are you here?" He laughs awkwardly
"We'll actually, it's a funny story really, you see-" she starts rambling. All the while Kie was giving her a dirty look. And JJ stood there in pain, not caring about her story at all but not wanting to be rude.
"You know you never gave me that tour either" she jokes, tapping his arm. At this point Kie stood in front of JJ and wrapped his arms around her stomach.
"What? Babe? You didn't give her a tour??" Kie says, mocking her valley girl accent "aww, he must have been busy" she flashes her a fake frown, never breaking eye contact with the blonde in front of her.
"Aha, right" Rosetta laughs awkwardly, becoming aware of the situation "well, um, it was good seeing you again JJ" she says, walking away.
The pogues bust out laughing as soon as she leaves
"Babe!?" JJ laughs, looking at Kie shocked
"Yea yea" Kie brushes off "had to let her know somehow" Kie says and smuggly walks ahead with Sarah to shit talk the girl
"That was kinda hot" JJ says to John b and pope, all of them still laughing.
An hour or so after that, JJ and kie went outside to get some air, just taking laps around the gym, talking and joking around.
After about the 6th lap, JJ saw a large group
Of people load up in a car and leave
"Where are they going?" He asks
"Probably leaving early for the after party" Kie replies, knowing JJ would want to leave soon
"Oh" he says as they walk back to the gym doors "we're not going to that." JJ says, looking back at the drunk teens drive off "I mean unless you want to" he quickly adds
"You don't want to go?" She asks, surprised by his response
"Ma'am I have to get you home before 12" he laughs "I'm not taking any chances"
Kie smiles as they walk back inside and on to the dance floor.
Once they got there, the music changed to a slow song. JJ looked at Kie and blushed, knowing what it meant.
"May I have this dance" JJ says, in a fake fancy accent, holding out his hand
"Why you may" Kie says, copying the accent
He spins her around at first, then pulling her in and they begin to slow dance.
"You know Kie," JJ starts, "your the only person id ever go to one of these with" he says, looking around at all the people inside.
"Yea" she laughs "it's not really your cup o tea, is it" she says as he shakes his head, agreeing with her.
"Kie" he says again, his voice getting softer as he looks down into her eyes "can I tell you something" he asks innocently
"Of course" she says, smiling
"Okay" he says, taking a deep breath "and your gonna have to bare with me here cuz I'm not the best with words" he warns
"Okay" she laughs, her arms wrapped around his neck.
JJ takes another deep breath, getting a little tense before talking
"I don't-" he stops, trying to think about how to word it. "I don't know what would have happened if you hadn't come into my life" he spits out
"What do you mean?" Kie asks, unaware
"Like" he starts "just in general"
Kie tilts her head, not knowing what he meant by that
"Like what if that night, at that party.. when I kissed you for the first time" he says, a smile starting to creep onto his face. "Like what if that never happened... or what if, what if when I kissed, you totally freaked out and got mad or, something I dunno"
Kie looked at him, waiting for him to keep explaining.
"Everything just would have been so different" he says "I mean there's no telling where I'd be right now if it weren't for you... I'm the person that I am right now, because of you." He continues
"I dunno," he says, still not knowing how to put it. "I just think about it a lot"
He pauses for a moment, looking into her eyes
"you saved me, Kiara Carrera." He says with seriousness in his voice and love in his eyes
Kie leaned her head into JJ chest, hugging her arms around him tighter.
"You know you never have to worry" Kie says, reassuring him "we've, definitely been through a lot.." she says, laughing a little at the thought of everything that's happened "but I'm here, now and forever JJ, I'm not leaving" she says, lifting her head up to look at him.
"I love you JJ" she says, kissing him on the lips
"I'm gonna be better for you Kie" JJ says firmly once they break away "i promise"
"I know you are" she says, hugging him again "I know"
"No really, I- I'm gonna keep my job, I'm gonna, gonna stop drinking as much and getting high all the time" he says, almost disgusted at his life style "I'm gonna make a life for us, okay, a good one" he promises
"JJ you don't need to worry about all of that right now" Kie says "I'm proud of you already"
He melted into her after hearing her say that. 'I'm proud of you'. Nothing made him feel better than hearing those four words.
"I'm just ready to get my life together" he says, almost coming to a realization "I'm tired of all my bullshit- all the shit I've put you through like, I just- I'm ready to change." He admits
Kie looks up at the boy in front of her. A love struck smile across her face. "Promise me something" she says and JJ nods his head, waiting for her to continue.
"no matter what happens" she starts "promise me we'll never give up. Promise that we'll always try, even if we fight or argue or whatever- just, promise me we won't give up to easily."
JJ looks at her and smiles
"You have my word" he promised
