"Are you serious?!" kie yelled as they got out of the car
"Im really trying not to argue with you kie, but you're making it very difficult." He responded as he shut the door behind her, almost slamming it.
"We're not arguing!" she shot back
"Oh, we're not?" he asked sarcastically as he reluctantly followed behind her with his hands in his pockets.
"This is a dumb conversation" kie said, not looking back at him.
"No really?" he said in the same sarcastic tone as before. she turned around and glared at him.
"Can we just be good for second, my parents are right there" kie said, adjusting her dress.
"We're not gonna talk about it?" JJ asked, laughing a little "you just want to pretend that we're fine"
"while we're at dinner with my parents? yes." she responded
He took a deep breath and fixed his posture as her parents met up with them.
"Hey you two" Mike said as him and Anna greeted them.
They took separate cars to the restaurant
"hey" kie smiled politley
"We ready?" Her father asked
JJ didnt say anything in the conversation. He just stood behind Kiara and agreed with everythng she said.
"And you" Mike said, casually grabbing JJs shoulder,and spoke in almost a whisper "don't do anything stupid tonight. You got that?"
JJ didn't really react. He was tired of people expecting the worst from him when he was trying to get better.
They went inside and greeted the investors
(The whole ride to the restaurant, Kie and JJ had been fighting. She was mad at him for still thinking about having the baby, and her hormones only made it worse. )
JJ was so tired of fighting with her. He didnt even want to go to the dinner anymore.
They all get inside and meet with the investors.
The whole time at dinner, JJ said very little and was lost in his thoughts for the most part.
About 20 minutes in, Kie noticed JJs tired face. Like he was numb, not thinking about anything.
"Do you agree?" Kie asks JJ, adding on to a conversation that JJ didn't even hear, because he wasn't paying attention.
"hm?" he said, snapping out of it and looking over at her.
She noticed his change in mood and how different he was acting, and felt bad. She didn't mean to always yell at him over small things. She just couldn't really help it right now.
"Don't you agree?" She asked, friendly, trying to see how he would react.
"mhm" He said, raising his eye brows and had shallow eyes while nodding his head. He was stand off-ish and not really engaged, as he turned back to face forward again.
After the dinner, JJ unwantingly followed kie back out to her car in the parking lot.
"Jayj" she said, breaking the silence as they walked in the street light.
He acknowledged her with a expression but didnt respond
"jayj, im sorry" she said, apologetically, catching up to him and standing in front so that he would stop walking.
